Come and take it
I think Baylor and Briles now know it's all on the line. And since Petersen has been involved by them, he has a stake as well. Just unbelievable how this has happened and progressed.
Jury came in after about 2 1/2 hours deliberation: Jury recommends 8 years in prison, but gets probation, 6 months jail time.
wow
Saban kicked Taylor off the team immediately after a bogus assault claim. This kid is still on the team and the coaches are "looking forward to having him play for Baylor this year".I haven't done my research on this, can someone tell me the difference in this situation and Johnathan Taylor, Alabama/UGA?
The whole thing is ugly.
Briles gambled the way a number have coaches have gambled: he threw the dice on a talented player who had some issues- but the dice came up snake eyes, and he's the one that now has to deal with it.
That's because you mischaracterized the Taylor/Alabama case . .I feel dirty for defending Alabama.
Couple things
1. This is the second Baylor football player found guilty of sexual assault
2. Both victims reportedly had their scholarship money reduced
3. His ex-girlfriend testified that BSU officials told her to find new residence for a couple days as she was not safe
4. She also said officers guarded Uwatchku (sp?) roommate
5. The judge was a Baylor grad
6. Not buying that Briles suspected nothing when a Freshmen All-American suddenly comes available
The whole thing is ugly.

And no he wants to make sure everyone knows it wasn't his fault. Poor ol' Art didn't have all the information he needed . . .should have formed this sentence better...should have quoted Briles as "talented player with issues". Point is, he gambled on this scumbag and lost.
So per Baylor DE Sam Ukwuachu sentenced to six months in county jail, 10 years probation | NCAA Football | Sporting News the jury did recommend 8 years but probated. He wouldn't have seen jail time unless he fucked up probation. The judge actually made it more of a punishment by stretching it to 10 years probation and adding 6 months in jail.Jury came in after about 2 1/2 hours deliberation: Jury recommends 8 years in prison, but gets probation, 6 months jail time.

Saban took some bad press for signing the kid.
The kid gets arrested.
Saban uses it as an easy out and kicks the kid off the team.
The charges are dropped.
Saban does not reinstate the kid because he doesn't want the bad press . . . again.
