This year should be interesting to see if the Patriots fumble numbers go up now that they have to...

Way to run away before answering the question about the Packers not fumbling more than everyone else.

Historically speaking, the change from 2003-2006 to 2007-present is a significant change. This correlated specifically with the rule change. You're right, until 2 or 3 years from now we won't know now. However, the stats seem to be more than a coincidence. I think it will prove out to be true in the next few years. Also, I think we may see Tom Brady overthrow receivers going forward instead of throwing it into the ground so often. LOL
So could the preparation/scuffing of the balls play into this equation? I mean you claim he'll overthrow yet the 2nd half of the Colts game he was statistically better. Weird even the judge mentioned that today. Get ready for lots of Brady threads with your thinking. Yep every overthrow will be proof Brady cheated.

When Eli gets suspended, whines like a schoolgirl and drags the entire football world through a court proceeding for 7 months, it will be worth discussing
Eli started whinning on draft day along with big brother and daddy. None of them have stopped yet. Actually PayAton has probably been the least of that whinning family.

I really don't think any increase, if there is, any will be significant. Belichick is a fanatic about fumbling and will sit players if they fumble.. I think that and the emphasis they put on those in terms of training are more important than any deflation.

play with inflated balls. I would guess we will see their fumble increase significantly. If you look at how fumbles went down once they let QB's prepare the balls before the game (i.e. when Brady started cheating) and prior to that season it's significant. I bet it goes up this year now.

Fumble rate plummeted with the rampant cheating so logically it'll return to league normal this season.

Brady's numbers will be anything but "league normal " however.

They will only continue to get worse. He leads the league in off-target throws and with the scrutiny and pressure of throwing regulation balls, I predict he's benched next season and retires.

I'm not saying anything about that... You provided one out-lyer in the data. You tell me why he fumbled more than the others and that is your most logical answer. But statistically speaking, the fumble rate among Patriot players is almost a statistical impossibility when compared to the rest of the league since 2007. I don't have the report, sorry no link, but I did read it via a link from one of the threads on this board.

They'll be playing with league balls this season.

It'll be glorious.

explain ridley

go

He fumbled a lot and the Patriots didn't resign him.

What I like is Pats fans explaining away the anomalously low fumble rate with "good coaching." :L

How would doing so accomplish your goal of directly or indirectly glorifying Tom Brady?

ok. so he fumbled a lot. he really did. 9 times.

so he and brady used the same ball on the same formations, same plays. brady would hand that ball off to ridley and he'd fumble.

explain your take now.

It's amazing that no other coaching staff/team cares about fumbling. No other team has placed any emphasis on decreasing their fumble rate. Only the superior minds of the Patriots' coaching staff has addressed fumbling as a problem.

you arent smart enough to understand.

the pats are one of a small group of NFL teams without A) a horse back or B) has not drafted a RB in the first round for a decade.

if a team has a high pick and a huge contract on a player (lacy, AP, lunch) they dont lose their job for a fumble.

shit, jonas gray ran for 200 yards and never got more than a token carry after being late for a meeting. think that happens to AP or lacy or lynch, or laveon bell?

shit, the pats reached onto the practice squad for gray after ridley went down. 200 yards, boom.

they have that luxury. RB's as needed.
