Those 2 teams are great for schedule strength as far as the cupcake games go.

And so are USC and Florida St.

Bama replaced the two MSU games with Western Kentucky and Fresno State. USC and FSU have nothing to do with it. Those games were already scheduled when Bama replaced the Sparty games.

I am pointing out some of the stupidity you spew here. But why don't you play ignorant some more, it seems to be all you are good at.

Yes, tell me more about how the old guys in the AD office who make schedules are making their choices based on fear rather than money and other reasons while telling me I'm playing ignorant.

Again, why didn't Alabama give up their home game for the neutral site game if they have such a hard on for money? Instead they tried to strong arm MSU out of their home game.

This is your argument? "Other reasons"? Money? Are you claiming that there's bigger money in a Fresno State or Western Kentucky match up than against a top ranked MSU?

Just wait until the rich folk from Western Kentucky ride into town and blow the Alabama economy sky high with their big spending habits. That's how it works.

Actually, that's exactly how it worked. I accept your white flag. Now go root for your pussy team.

Sorry, but you don't know how any of this works and the only reason people are letting you get away with it is because you are arguing against me and hating on Alabama.

Good luck, at least you aren't this dumb on the other forums.

I have corrected him several times, he won't listen to a Sparty.

I know how it works. Bama agreed to play MSU, then backed out and replaced those games with two jobbers. Beginning and end of story. I take back the pussy team comment, I'm sure those kids are just as disappointed as everyone else. Obviously Saban was afraid to play in EL and got the AD to pull the plug. He's the pussy. Not the team.

Alabama Crimson Tide cancel Michigan State Spartans series

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Michigan State has granted Alabama's request to drop two future meetings from the schedule.

The Crimson Tide asked to cancel the football games scheduled for 2016 and '17.

Alabama athletic director Bill Battle said Thursday the school made the request because of "the uncertainty of the conference football schedule in those years."

The Southeastern Conference hasn't ruled out a move to a nine-game league schedule since the expansion to 14 teams.

The games would have pitted Alabama coach Nick Saban against his former school. He was Michigan State's coach from 1995 to '99.

The Spartans were scheduled to visit Tuscaloosa in 2016, with the Crimson Tide going to East Lansing the following year. Michigan State still has Notre Dame and two midlevel opponents on the schedule each of those years. Alabama now does not have any nonconference opponents contracted for 2016.

Information from ESPN.com's Brian Bennett and The Associated Press was used in this report.

"What are we going to do with all of these neutral-site games that we have gotten into playing one every year, which continues to be an option for us in the future," Saban said. "We play West Virginia next year in Atlanta and Wisconsin the next year in Dallas. And those games our kids really enjoy."

And from a business standpoint and a financial standpoint, they're much more beneficial than playing home and home with someone because we get paid every year, not just the year we play at home. So it's twice as good from a business standpoint."

Both teams who play in the neutral-site games get multi-million dollar payouts from sponsors for their participation.

The last true home-and-home Alabama played involved Penn State in 2010 and 2011. Alabama also put off its home and home with Georgia Tech scheduled for 2019 and 2020.

"So, even though emotionally, in my heart and for all the good relationships and friends we have at Michigan State," Saban said, "We'd love to play that series, it just probably doesn't make much business sense to hang on to it right now relative to some of the other options and question marks that we have relative to the future."

- Nick "the beacon of truth" Saban

420, if you want to believe this steaming pile of lies, so be it. I don't. I guess Saban thinks trying to slow down Auburn and Oregon was simply "good business" too.

When Bama loses early in the year to USC and/or FSU, they'll be wishing they still had Sparty to beat and help catapult them into the tournament.

You are making my argument on why neutral site games are better than home and home series and why EVERY single team that is offered one takes it.

If Alabama loses to USC or FSU in week 1, then so be it. It's college football, shit happens. Alabama isn't going to be in the playoffs every year or even the majority of the years, so whatever. They are going to be great games and the majority of college football fans will be watching them.

Well then chalk it up to me being very disheartened that money comes before everything else in CFB. I could give a shit how much money Bama makes. I'm sure they're not hurting. I want to see them play Sparty.

I'll be honest. When Alabama scheduled USC and Florida St, 2 teams that are expected to be playoff contenders for these years, I foolishly thought that there was no way people would be able to complain about such great games. I thought these are going to be classic games and in the case of USC a game that is a once in a generation game at best. Only 7 total games in over 100 years. These teams are all stepping up and playing tough games with playoff consequences right away.

How can anyone ever complain about these match ups I thought.

Boy was I fucking wrong. People will find absolutely any fucking thing to bitch about. You found a way.

And it's not even like 1 of you, it's like a bunch of a you. Quite impressive.

Alabama could play the teams ranked #1-#11 and then 1 cupcake and I bet we'd have 10 threads about Alabama's easy schedule and the 114 FBS teams they were scared to play.

I hope you can find a way to carry on.
