I don't get why so many Lakers fans aren't more excited! IMO Russell is the best player in the draft.

Clarkson could have been your point guard of the future. You could have gotten rondo cheeap. Okafor rando, Clark, randle , Kobe, and another free agent, would have been better IMO.

Clarkson still could be! Who is going to fill Kobe's spot once he retires in a year or so? This is thinking about the future.

A guard with court vision, a good scorer and shooter is better for the future than a big like Okafor who's terrible on D and a bad FT shooter.

First, DeAngelo is most likely gonna play the 2 vs. the PG. Plus, he's LEGIT!!

Second, I wouldn't touch Rondo with a ten foot pole! Plus, not as cheap as you think!
There's reasons why he struggled with Dallas, ie. he didn't have KG, Pierce, and Ray Allen!!

Third, I'm not counting next year as a go for the gold year, not gonna have the pieces. With the right big, ie Aldridge, Monroe, M. Gasol, etc. we'll be much better. So I'm not gonna really include Kobe in that, hoping he takes Russell under his wing like Byron Scott did with him.

I'm pretty sure this had a lot to do with it. Plus, I've seen in interviews where Okafor's 2nd workout was very sub par, unlike Russell's!

The Western Conference is guard heavy, we just got ourselves a heavyweight guard!!!!

Yeah, that's why they picked him, he is electric!! He's more of a SG than a PG. But can certainly distribute!

I suggest people look at the videos I posted on the first page. His court vision and spacing is phenomenal.

Okafor can't play D. Guards get screened all game. A big needs to be able step up and recover on those PnRs. Okafor is gonna get abused there. I'd rather have Jordan if you want a C who can't shoot free throws.

Big time!!! Because we know what he'll(Jordan) bring defensively! Big time rim protector!!

Okafor lacks lateral speed, pick n roll gonna be tough for him.
