Remember 2 years ago when the Atlanta Braves were world series contenders, with a great line up and the best pitching staff in the league, with the best setup-closer combo? Yup that was 2 years ago, 1 collapse and failed season later, the whole team is barren of talent and the best closer in the league is gone. Sorry braves fans.

It is a big time rebuild time in Atlanta. At least they got rid of that awful contract to Melvin aka BJ Upton. Braves vs Phillies for bottom of the NL East

I'm guessing this is sincere because, as a Phillies fan, you can fully empathize with the Braves fan's plight.

Check this out:

Remember 2-3 years ago when the Philadelphia Phillies were perennial world series contenders, with a great line up and the best pitching staff in the league, with the best setup-closer combo? Yup that was 2-3 years ago, a bunch of aging out and a shitty contract or two later, the whole team is barren of talent and they're looking to be one of the worst teams in baseball in 2015. Sorry Phillies fans.

It works.

organizationally

they had an atrocious farm for a long, long time

they will compete this year

If by "compete" you mean "show up to a ballpark on scheduled days to play baseball," I totally agree with you. They're still a 90+ loss team in that division.

Congrats on finishing 4th in the AL Central this year.

Thank you, Miss Cleo. Has anyone told you that dress looks stunning on you?

Could this be the first year the Yankees finish in the basement of their division since 1966?

And I have to admit that I do not follow the American League as much, so I was kind of surprised to find out last night that the new $150 million dollar arm Lester can't throw to 1st base (apparently to 3rd either) so he can't keep runners close, but insists on throwing to a catcher that cannot throw the ball to 2nd. :der: The ESPN announcers made it seem that this was common knowledge. How did he have so much success in Boston? Add to that the 2 almost automatic outs each time this battery comes up in the line-up, and I don't see how this is going to fly in the NL. With all the hype written about this years Cubs, why was this major problem never written about?

We're finishing 1st.

That wouldn't shock me. Seems like any team in that division has the potential to win it. Obviously some more than others. Kind of a refreshing change from the last couple decades of Yanks/Sox domination.

We're finishing 1st.

I really hope the Yankees can score runs this season because CC Sabathia seems to be giving up more and more runs and Tanaka with most likely need the season ending surgery he should have had LAST season.

First or worst?

Watching the Reds opening day Parade on tv right now. Pretty cool. It's retarded that the Reds aren't the first game played anymore.

Hay GenJac, let's be mortal enemies or something. Here's how it'll work:

I'll constantly call you a dickwad for being a Philly fan, and you'll go "Yes, sir, Mr. Mets fan, sir..."

Deal?

It's been this way for a few years now. I imagine tv ratings (the almighty dollar) killed this tradition.
