How, exactly, is she "out of it"? I think she is SUPER-focused, and willing to do ANYTHING to protect herself and her family. If that means killing a kid, she kills a kid. If that means overthrowing a peaceful community, she will overthrow a peaceful community.

As much as I hate to be THAT guy, Carol shot Lizzy after Lizzy killed Mika.
I too think Carol is going to soften up towards Sam. While I can see how she'd be a bit annoyed by him, I'm surprised she acted like such a bitch to him in this past episode. The necessary threat from last week is completely understandable, but to be a bitch to him this week I found a bit odd. Maybe she just doesn't want to allow herself to get attached to any more kids or something. But this particular kid has knowledge that can ruin her. The threat was a good move, but aside from that I'd be doing everything I could to stay on his good side, if that includes cookie blackmail then so be it.

That's what I told wifey last night when we were watching it. She said he was losing his marbles due to PTSD. I said "nah, he just doesn't want his secret getting out."
I think he just wants Rick's group out of the picture so he can start over with a clean slate.

Well, that's kinda "out of it" if ya ask me... The kid didn't kill anyone in the group, he wasn't bitten, he simply walked in while she was stealing guns from the people who gave her and the group a chance at safety.

I think the Minister is suicidal and figures that dying soon is an escape from the terrible world, it just that he keeps getting saved by people (who are killers).

He is telling the truth in his way- they are ruthless killers.
He can't connect his passive way (of killing by locking doors, etc) with active killing such as swinging a blade or shooting a zombie or person.
Gabriel will lock a door that gets people killed, but he won't fight. He would rather die. He would have died on the Rock and was just waiting for the end, but then the group of killers saved him. So it goes on and on.

I don't think they kill Gabriel, I think they just exile him from inside the gates. Same goes for Sasha if she goes on a shooting spree, which appears to happen in next week's preview.
Other than Tara possibly dying from her injuries, I think everyone else from the main group makes it through the end of the season. Now, that's not to say that some may be in near-death situations at the end of the season finale...
