Am I the only one who doesn't care if the footballs were deflated?

I would understand if the game was close at all, but it was 45-7. I think the deflated footballs is not a good excuse for the loss. If it was so deflated, it would have been noticed by the defense when picking up the foootball from an incomplete pass or something, or referee, or some NFL official. But the Colts only scored 7 points. What is their offense's excuse for scoring only 7 points?

so cheating/breaking rules is okay as long as it doesn't decide the outcome of a game

I couldn't care less at this point. There's going to be consequences at some point but let's just focus on the game. Brady's punishment for the time being is going to be answering a gazillion questions about the footballs he used the previous game which has to be a huge distraction.

The game is going to go on, BB is going to be the coach, and Tom Brady is going to be behind center. Time to put this on hold and focus on the game.

Here's the problem with that approach: how close does it have to be then? 44-7? 17-7? 14? 10? Whatever number you pick will be largely arbitrary. And what if the NFL determines (probably impossible but let's speculate) that they've been doing it all season or for several seasons or even a decade?

Meanwhile, the vast majority of all players not QB's or kickers are on PED's but that's not "cheating." Amazes me what people are willing to overlook yet make mountains out of molehills if it's a team or player they despise. Hypocrisy at the hoop knows no bounds.

Biggest story of a non issue I have seen in years.

Brady was a better QB in the second half when the NFL said the balls were properly inflated.

George Brett's pine tar bat level of over reaction. Fan's that just don't like New England or Brady blow this shit up. If anything of value was going on in sports this mater is already over.

I have a hard believing that the football was all that deflated. I am sure a Colts defender picked up an incomplete pass, ball after a play, ball thrown to the sideline, etc. would notice during the game.

If it was too deflated, the referee that puts the ball on the field would have easily notice the difference between the footballs of both teams. Why wasn't it discovered by them during the game?

Also, to answer your question, there are some rules that should allow leeway. I would hate a flag being thrown every play because of holding. We all know it happens. It is just called when it is blatantly obvious or has an affect on the outcome of the play.

So yes, there are rules that should have some leeway as long as it doesn't decide the outcome of the game.

I am one that thought Spygate wasn't that big of deal when it involved the Super Bowl vs the Rams.

Patriots still needed a game-winning FG to win. If that kick went wide-whatever, would Spygate be an issue? I remember the Jets were caught with spying or something and they still lost, they got some minor fine or something.

the colts defender reported today he noticed nothing by the way. the colts front office requested the ball from the staff on the field . It was falsely reported that the player noticed it, reported first by a colts writer.

can u see where this is heading?

They still would have won but it was 0-0 when they began playing with those under inflated balls . Some one thought it could help.

At first, I thought the Pats had deflated Andrew Luck's balls. Then, I found out it was just Tom Brady's balls that were deflated. This makes it less of a big deal, IMO.
