Wouldn't have helped you. Many of us felt that a down Bama would find a way to barely beat OSU, only to be curb-stompmed by Oregon.

Really, just search the forum for Bama posts, and you'll see a few of us "doom-and-gloomers" bemoaning the Tide's many shortcomings this year likely preventing Bama from winning another NC.

And let's face it: We Bama fans expect the team to be in the thick of the NC hunt each and every season, and when we don't think they'll make it, it's a down-year for the Tide. There were far too many holes in Bama's defense for many of us to be comfortable with them.
