College football is based more on "gut feeling" and name than anything else, you pour through the internet looking for stats that show your side, tell us of W-L records, tell us some defensive stats, no hypocrite here or with you, we have differing ideas of what makes a good coach or a good football team. I like defense, you like offense, I see a coach in over his head who was bailed out by Luck hiring Bradley to coach the coaches, you see an up and comer. I can have discussion, you call names. The very same discussion we have had 1000 times, you can not let it go. Anyone says anything you dont agree with, you will post 10 times to yourself in response to something that no one else posted on for a week.........

Is that what you see!....

You had to ask. :L:doh::lol:

The part that cracks me up is I can have discussion, you call names. The very same discussion we have had 1000 times, you can not let it go.

Spit my fucking drink across the kitchen and almost choked to death laughing.

You're right Slaton, let's fire Huggins, disband the basketball team, and give his salary to Holgorsen, he's a better coach than Saban, Meyer, and the hatter rolled into one. Let's shitcan the hall of famer, and sign the overmatched upstart for twenty years...........

Still see no answers to why the offense improved as much as the defense....was Bradley calling those plays as well? I wish Bradley would have motivated the team at Texas.

First off, the offense did not improve nearly as much as the defense, going 70 yards and turning the ball over isn't getting it done. The one statistic that is most responsible for the better W-L record this year was our defenses third down efficiency. Just rambling off some ranking number doesn't tell the story, you are giving the offense credit for defensive and ST TDs when you do that.

ALSO, Bradley was interacting with EVERY coach on the team, not just the defensive ones.

What kind of interaction are you referring to?

Did Bradley pass the offensive coaches in the hallway and say 'hi'… was it that kind of interaction?

Going from 4-8 to 7-5 with two of the wins by last second field goals is NOT great improvement. The defense was vastly improved from last year, the offense and STs not so much. I just don't get the blind adoration for Holgorsen, and even more confusing is the complete hatred and disregard for anything prior.

How do you banter with someone that has no concept of what improvement means or looks like......

If they would have missed those field goals you would have lit a fire under that !!!....LOL!

Offense not improved??

Total Offense #63 in 2013 to #11 in 2014...that's 52 spots if you can't do the math...that is VAST IMPROVEMENT!

Scoring Offense #79 in 2013 to #38 in 2014..that is VAST IMPROVEMENT!

Passing Offense #34 in 2013 to #9 in 2014..that is VAST IMPROVEMENT!

Rushing Offense #83 in 2013 to #44 in 2014...that is VAST IMPROVEMENT!

Special Teams?

Lambert was a Lou Groza finalist...when in the history of WV football has that ever happened?

#20 in the country in KO returns..

Total Defense #102 in 2013 to #60 in 2014..that is 42 spots..by comparison the Offense had the most improvement year over year..and BTW if your bench mark for vast improvement being #60 in the country is good..man do you and I have a different concept of what vast improvement looks like...the defense stopped the hemorrhaging...it didn't vastly improve...Iowa State, Kansas and OSU where the only teams worse in the conference.........

LOOK at the articles written at the time of his hiring and since, I guess you think Holgorsen taught Bradley a thing or two????

Yes ...I do...

Bradley was used planning defenses against run first offenses...I am more than certain Hologorsen gave input on what he knew about the other B12 teams and ways to defend them.....

Bradley was mentored by one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game, there is NOTHING Holgorsen could teach him about football coaching, PERIOD. We saw in 2012 and 2013 what Holgorsen's knowledge of defense is, absolutely nothing.

Hell, it is what makes the WVU board one of the most active on here, so just go with it.

Hmm..so let me understand this...a seasoned coach can't learn anything new...he has all the answers..WOW..OKAY...

Then a guy like Huggins an ACTUAL HEAD COACH with the second most wins active wins in College Basketball at the moment should really have all the answers and then some!....not so much!......

Joe Mazzulla helped him deploy John Beliens version of the 1-3-1.........

[B]That would be the 1-3-1 zone defense that Beilein loved to feature. It is a strange zone, something different than what teams mostly see. Huggins likes a switching, man-to-man defense as his main weapon, but he realized as the season went on that he needed something else to change tempo, to give offenses something to think about.

Huggins has said he knew nothing about the 1-3-1 and that holdover Beilein players, particularly Mazzulla, who is on track to become a wonderful coach, explained the principles of it to him and helped him install it,

No, you will never understand. It is not just x and os we are talking about, Holgorsen does a great job in play design, and could probably teach a course on it. We are talking about running the program, getting the kids and coaches on the same page, getting ALL the coaches on the same page, creating chemistry, lighting the fire in the belly, scouting the other team and adjusting to what you can do against them, getting players on and off the field. I would imagine that Gibson, and not Holgorsen, filled Bradley in on his ideas, and asked for input from Scrap on how best to do what he wanted. I imagine there were several conversations between Bradley and Holgorsen about how Paterno handled a tough loss, a big win, discipline issues, etc. Running the program and drawing plays up are two very different things........
