idk I can't say I love the hire, but I don't hate it either, he knows how to develop players so that will be a drastic improvement, other than that I know very little about him. Will be an interesting off season for sure and signing day to see what we can salvage from our class and with recruiting going forward

All I have to say 75% of the fan base love Bo. Look where that went!

We have to give it a chance. If or when we win with him. Will the fans that didn't like the hire "eat crow"!

I will gladly eat crow when I see 12 overall wins.

I have very little doubt I'll ever have to.

I can say with 99% certainty I'll never have to.

You either put the pieces together or you don't. It doesn't matter where you're at.

Mike Riley did not want to leave Oregon State when he was winning, but once he started losing he decides to get the heck out of Corvalis.

This strikes me as odd.

If he thought he had it rolling in 2012 and did now want to leave, why leave now?

My guess, he regrets not taking the big money that was offered to him, and he decided this time he would and cash in the chips because he is only going to get worse in Corvalis. He saw the writing was on the wall.

This contract had better not be a lot and there had better not be a big buyout.

If it is true, that Eichorst dissed Tressel, he is a fool.

I will gladly eat my crow. But hiring a guy with a losing percentage and someone I ha e never heard of is just bullshit.

If tressel was a real option and we fucked him over,....

Also this just can't be the best coach we can hire. No one in the big ten is shaking right now. I think this is going to be a big time growing period. We don't have time for this bullshit.

So much fail in this thread. You guys really make me wonder sometime. How do you go from "Fire Bo, anybody would be better!" To, "Not this guy, he's worse than Bo!"

Support your fucking coach. You guys pissing and moaning wanted the change more than anybody. Well, you got it.

Off soap box.

Carry on.

I think all this mess with Tressel got our hopes up we were going to see a Bill Belichick come storming in through the door. I doubt very much we were even in contact with JT about a position, if we were and he was interested then we wouldn't be going with OSU coach instead

I'm just exhausted to be honest.

Feel like I've been jacking off for 5 straight days and right when I'm about to blow my load I just can't quite do it.

Now I'm sitting here with limp dick and the bluest balls I've ever seen.

Are you kidding? You do realize that Oregon St. is in the same state as Oregon, right? He is recruiting against Oregon, USC, UCLA, Washington, etc. and the only facilities in the PAC that may be worse than Oregon St. are Washington St. and I'm not sure that even that's true.

Trust me when I tell you, what Riley has accomplished at Oregon St., is nothing short of remarkable. I'm good with USC hiring Sark, but I was praying we'd get Riley during the interview process.
-------
My first response was fuck me sideways. But Oregon State has facilities that Kansas/Indiana/SMU have. With that in mind I'm not so sure you could compete with the big schools in the Pac that have all kinds of money. With the exception of the Dennis Erickson (I go where the money is) stint at OSU Riley has IMO done more with less. I'm hoping with his low strting salary, that he can hire decent assistants.

Am I completely sold on him? Cold day in hell but I'm willing to play with a wait and see mndset.

I just can't believe anyone would turn down those jobs because he feels it wasn't a right fit... money makes it the right fit. And if the orgst facilities so bad. Why would you turn down bama it USC's facilities. Plus the money. I am not buying it
