Riley has never lost LESS than 4 games in a season at Oregon St.

I'm definitely willing to get behind him and hope for the best.

I just would not have fired Bop to completely start over with this.

It's bizarre. Very fucking bizarre, but as RA CLAIMED he would do, I will give him 4 years of full support. Sean Eichorst just put himself on a very short fucking leash.

Ever been to Corvallis? Or studied the history? Mike Riley put them on the map, and yes, he didn't have the best teams in the PAC, but he is by far the classiest coach in the PAC and quite possibly the best person you could send your kids to as a parent. Nebraska will do great with Coach Riley.

Fuck you Oregon fan.

This sucks and you know it.

I never wanted to go to Corvalis, and I certainly did not want to hire a losing coach from there.

Two players drafted last year. Does not really know talent if you ask me, when he is right next to California.

Beaverton is almost 1,000 miles from LA. That's almost the same distance as Lincoln to New Orleans, and 90% of Texas is closer. And of course, Nebraska has a much bigger stadium, much better facilities, a bigger fanbase, more history, better academics, and dominates its state.

Oregon State is like a WAC school playing against the big boys. His teams have been solid. I'd hate it if my program hired a 61 year old, but citing to fertile recruiting ground is an awful reason to discount Riley.

As a Wisconsin fan, I fear him a lot more than I fear Bo.

The way I see it, he Coached in a conference twice as tough as the B1G and Coached at a place where it is twice as hard to recruit. Gotta get a staff in place. We'll see where this goes. I'm optimistic.

I want to see what kind of staff he puts together. Specifically strength coach and OC.

One thing I'm sure of: Our quarterbacks will be taught how to play big boy football.

Yeah. That's Oregon State.

12 seasons is not enough time to excite a fan base and build a program?

I'm fucking sick over this.

Here's a stat for you: Prior to his hiring, Oregon State had 26 straight losing seasons.

Well, this is going well.

Fuck it. I'm on board until he crashes and burns. Can't wait to see the coordinators he has lined up.

the coordinators better be pretty f-ing special. I'm still waiting to see what the punchline is here. The only way I can see that SE thinks this is a good hire is that he also has two really really good coordinators hired too.

Riley NEVER had the ability to recuit 4-5 star talent at OSU...IF he can get those king of quality players at Neb...he will succeed easily.

You will like his offensive style and so will the kids playing in that system...Beaver problem has always been defense and lack there of.

Want to see that?

Go to the 104th Civil War game and watch how good his defense was that year. Very good indeed

Serious question good hire or no for Nebraska?
Im on the fence with our new guy too.. his plusses are previous SEC exp with 2 NC and has improved the offense at that school in 2 years along with their wins..

All I can say at this point is, he better bring in the best coordinators he can find. If he can bring Frost with him from the Northwest, I might be a little happier about this.

I will still support the Nebraska Cornhuskers no matter what. I just hope this isn't another Billy C situation and we are looking for a new coach in 4 years.
