So now Holgorsen notches his second signature win and what do we have to talk about today?..beleive it or not still the Dana haters out there...

And not just on this site.....Was talking with BBW this weekend he was fortunate enough to see the win...and BTW I say win because unlike last year when Wv "UPSET" Okie State to me this was no upset..as I have said on here I beleived the team was gelling and was getting ready to do some good things...anyhow BBW says there are still many in Morgantown that will never get on this guys bandwagon...even spreading rumors that Dana is the next HC at Florida!...Sounds like Deja Vu and Bobby Bowden if you ask me!!...yeah let's kick an up and coming coach to the curb and send him to a low end program like........FLORIDA!!!:gaah:

Luck can't lock this guy up quick enough for the next 10 years!...and BTW Ollie has been vindicated!....sorry Dana Hater's!!!

Awesome win on Saturday.......just hope they put it behind them quickly and go on the road to Stillwater and steal a good road win!:suds:

Yeah... some poster on BGN said he wouldn't be surprised if UF called Dana about any interest. Just someone speculating the what-if scenario. Funny thing... this past summer this same poster said he had inside knowledge that the deep pockets had committed the money needed to buy-out Dana's WVU contract. Now, he is starting threads about Dana being such a hot commodity that UF might come calling. Makes me laugh...

I had a kid I grew up with that is a big time Dana hater write a message to me on FB this weekend. He hates Dana... hates Luck... but, wanted to acknowledge that Dana had the boys ready to play well against BU.

Of course, I had to mention how happy I was for him and the other Dana haters that they will get to enjoy more years of having Dana as the HC of WVU. They just gonna be miserable...

These people should open their eyes and realize the program is on the rise again......and as supposed supporters of the program they should be rallying behind this guy and in the true blue way of West Virginia hospitality start making him feel like he is home!....

I had a great weekend, went up Friday night and stayed with some old friends in Fairmont...howled at the moon until about 4:30(funny we did not burn or destroy one thing)...weather was a little shaky in the morning, but after the rain rolled through it turned into a wonderful day of football. Talked to some Baylor fans and they said they were freezing, it had been unusually hot down in Texas as of late.(HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE ONE)

Made it to my seats about a hour before kickoff, brought the wife since she was dying to get to at least one game this year since baby complications has stopped her from previous games. I usually get to my seats around the same time and even my wife commented how many fans were already there....most we have seen in a while. I kept looking into the student sections and shaking my head....30 mins prior, 15 mins prior, 10 mins prior, 5 mins prior and a smile came to my face they had that section packed with more people rolling in. That place got loud and stayed loud (HOME ADVANTAGE NUMBER TWO)

Now we start off with the fumble and we have all seen this before....one bad thing happens in the first quarter and some of our fans start sitting on their hands like the freaking game is over. Well this was different, pretty kept cheering on the team and kept behind the defense and it played a factor...got home a watched it on TV and the commentators said a couple of times how the stadium was rocking 60,000 strong...was pretty awesome.

I have nothing else to say to the Dana haters...in my opinion they show their ignorance on football and there close mindedness is an embarrassment to everything we say we stand for(much like the students after the game). Keep hating because the patience is paying off and we are seeing this team grow and turn the corner at the same time. Keep your ass at home, we don't need you at Mountaineer Field spewing your crap. Since he has been here he has done nothing but try to make this team better, on and off the field. Yet you simpletons want to hold it against him because you don't like the way things ended with his predecessor, so easily to forgot that person made a joke of our school with his private smear campaign in the media.....he truly showed his character, but lets forget that since he was from WV.

I am just going to keep enjoying this team win or lose, because I think we finally have the guy with the right ideas and right work ethic to get it done.....and say he does leave for anywhere else...would not blame him one bit since he has had a upward fight with the local yokel idiots from day one. Keep your harping for the BE and the old days, but your missing some good stuff right in front of your face. :suds:

Man, are the Holgorsen LOVERS insecure........I do not like Holgorsen, but I will say he has learned a LOT in the last 9 months about being a HC, the Bradley hire has been HUGE for our program, and Gibson as DC has got the defense playing well together!!! If Holgorsen keeps listening and learning, he just MAY turn out to be a good coach.

I really don't see him going anywhere, no matter how good he gets or what offers he gets. Him and his dad built his house out of them special ordered logs ect. If he was using this as a stepping stone, he would have just bought a home. From listening to him talk I really think he wants to build something special here. I think he wants to have one of those Paterno, Snyder, Beamer, ect. legacy's.

While those types are far and few between it would be nice if it worked out that way. I think he has put a lot into this program and I think he wants to see it to the end.

One of the reasons we are seeing less coaching types like this is the fan bases do not practice patience...they want win now(no matter what the circumstances may be) or get out....or at the first sign of trouble they want to bail on a coach. Look at Nehlan, if he was coaching in todays game and had the same record he had there is no way he would have been here that long(that is not knocking Nehlan that is just how the times have changed) It takes time to build these programs, you going to have down seasons, but scrapping everything every four years is not the answer.

One of the things that bothers me with the Dana haters, is that they hate anyone questioning their stance. They constantly stated that the Dana lovers made excuses for the team's performances. Despite presenting facts to support the issues Dana faced after he took over as HC, they simply stated the performances were due to poor coaching.

A lot of the Dana haters were big Billy Stewart supporters. So, they loved to mention Dana won with Stewart's recruits. That he was losing with his own recruits. That he couldn't develop talent.

These haters refused to give Dana credit for the development of Geno, Tavon or Stedman. They loved throwing last year's results in everyone's faces to support this idea that Dana was in over his head.

The accused lovers asked for patience. Were called names like hypocrites.

Thankfully... WVU has an intelligent football man running the athletic department.

Luck and Dana are Gods...

Give it a rest, BB, who calls who names?????? Last year, Holgorsen was HORRIBLE, he has learned and studied over the offseason and is a much improved coach this year. He still has a great deal to learn, but I am pleased to see his change in attitude, I think he was humbled by how bad last season went, and applied himself to learn his job. I really think that the hiring of Bradley, with years at a great school working for a legendary coach has boosted Holgorsen, and in turn our program. I think, had the last second kick not gone through against UMD, this season would be going in a completely different direction, and the BS clock management at the end of the first half of that game could be pointed to as part of the reason.

WVU fans ran Bowden out of town for not beating sPitt and PSU, even though he had a decent record, In the late 1990s, there was a plane pulling a banner around at every game with a message to fire Nehlen on it, it hasn't changed all that much. The biggest difference now is that coaches are signed to multimillion dollar contracts, and the expectation is indeed to win to justify the ridiculous salaries, hell, the waterboy probably gets paid more now than HCs were paid 20 years ago.

There was NO BS CLOCK MISMANAGEMENT at the end of the first half of the MD game. I have no idea why you keep posting such crap. You didn't even watch the game. How can you make such ridiculous comments?

To say Dana was HORRIBLE last year... is quite telling. The quickest turn around in coaching abilities in the history of coaching. Is that what you truly believe?

What a joke...

SOOOOOO, players can learn and mature, but coaching ability is stagnant?????? Go look at the UMD game thread on here, BB, look at the comments from quite a few fans about the end of the first half against UMD, were you in my living room that day to know what I did and didn't watch???? Dang, you are getting defensive, what a joke you have become in your ridiculous comments. :lame:

:agree:

I am not sure how anyone can say he did a horrible job last year...by the end of the year they were so banged up the team on the field was 40% freshmen and sophomores...who wins in the Big12 with that ratio...especially on the road.......

My God... anyone who knows anything about football understands what a great job Dana did last year. He took a team with 8 new guys on offense, and had them competitive in all but a few of their games. All done without a healthy or Divsion 1 caliber QB.

The offensive team showed remarkable improvement at year's end.

I cannot take DAD's crap seriously...

I said this last year and was laughed out of the building, that maybe with what we had 4-8 was a pretty good job.

All those players on offense and a couple on defense had just been on campus a couple of weeks by the time the season started. Yet we had some people saying by game 7 it should have all come together, not admitting to the fact by game 7 we had a real young and unhealthy team.

DAD,

I don't have to have been in your living room to know you didn't watch the game. When you made a comment that Dana's ass was saved at the end of the game because Maryland called a time out with 4 sec's left... it was all too clear to me whether you watched it... or read about the game on the internet.

Remember DAD... what would Jesus do?
