Why do so many people that don't care for soccer feel compelled to shit all over everyone else who does?

If you hate soccer, fine. Just don't see the need to post about it then, and in threads not related to like/dislike of the sport. And yet you just can't have a thread anywhere without some asshat doing just that.

Well that's just it, it isn't just that they don't care for soccer. I mean we know it's not a highly popular sport among Americans. It's that they feel the need to constantly tell every soccer fan how bad/boring/stupid the sport is. I just don't get why so many feel the need to shit on every soccer fan simply because they don't care for it. It really is just fucking retarded. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't really offend me. I laugh at their stupidity. I just genuinely don't understand why they do so. It's a head scratcher.

I don't like hockey, but I don't feel the need to go to the hockey forum and tell everyone why and I wouldn't even think of making fun of, or otherwise belittling hockey fans. Everyone should just watch/follow what they are interested in.

It isn't just you. There really aren't many threads anyone can make where someone doesn't feel the need to point out their disdain for the sport and I can't for the life of me get why. If I don't like a sport I really don't pay any attention to it, nor the fans who do support it. I haven't once ever opened a hockey thread or their board for that matter. Can't say as I open the NBA board either.

Telling people who are having a conversation about soccer that you can't stand it really is trolling. Can't be anything else but.

Now I'll follow that up by saying I'm only a casual soccer fan at best and will keep following our MLS team, but I'm not sure how much interest I'll have in the rest of this tournament now that the US is gone. I might tune into a match here or there if I'm not otherwise busy, but I don't think I'll really be pulling for anyone.
