I remember reading in Gretzky's book about how if he had to play one game for everything he owned, Fuhr would be his goalie and Jari Kurri would be on his wing. After watching Money Hank last night I got to thinking, of all the players in the NHL right now. If you had to ice a full roster using anyone you wanted to play one game for you with everything you own at stake, who would you use?

All money team.

Kane - Kopitar - Toews
Richards - Johansen - (And this KILLS ME) Carter
Nash - Dubinski - Parise
Bickell - Niederreiter - (This hurts too) Oshie

Keith - PK Subban
Chara - Suter
Jack (MF'in) Johnson - Niskanen

Lundquist
Crawford

Quenneville would be my coach.

So everything I own could be on the line and we're going to a shootout?

Only if my opponent chooses Quick and he kicks the post off.

But that's a good point... Shootout. Maybe I should put Foligno in. No one minds when he scores OT goals.

Jack Johnson Sucks

He has more playoff points this year than Booth, Bieksa and the Sedins combined. :D

heh. First time I've ever gotten to play that card.

And yet you left the active leader in playoff points per game off your roster entirely.

Are people seriously leaving players like Crosby and Zetterberg off their roster in favor of Mike Richards?

In my defense, I was trying to put together a team for all situations and not just an all star team.

Hard to deny the fact that Richards and Carter have TWICE come back from 3-0 series deficits while Crosby has lost 3 times when up 3-1.

Money time, crunch time... Sorry. Gotta go with guys who have recently got it done.

Now if we were building rosters to win a President's trophy... Different guys.

This isn't an All-Star team

Hell, Jeff Carter has less than half as many postseason points as Crosby in more games and a +/- 19 goals lower and he's gotten multiple mentions, one of them by a guy who "hates" him. I don't get it either.

Why should they get credit for the comebacks but seemingly no blame for the deficits that made them necessary?

if you're building a team to win 1 game, you have to take the best player in the league IMO. unfortunately, that's crosby.

It's about winning and Jeff Carter isn't a guy that gets frustrated and acts like a child - Sid acts like a child and does things that captains shouldn't do - you don't want that negative energy on your team - you want guys who will work hard and not complain to the refs all the time about why they don't get calls, etc - Sid is bad energy for a team

Well, you could say the same thing going into last night, last night was 1 game, you take the best player in the league in that situation too, right? Everyone would have went Crosby going into last night and what did he do? Nothing

The only way he ever wins is if he has legitimate leadership around him(like Jonathan Toews on Team Canada) - teams can't win with Sid especially when there isn't leadership around him and nobody to set him straight when he starts mouthing off to the refs and showing bad energy
