Mark Jackson says fans should boycott game 5

Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson had a clear message as to how fans should react to alleged racist comments by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling: Boycott Game 5 at the Staples Center.

"If it was me, I wouldn't come to the game," Jackson said Monday. "I believe as fans, the loudest statement they could make as far as fans, is to not show up to the game."

Jackson was quick to point out that his advice doesn't apply just to Clippers supporters, but also to Warriors fans as well.

"As an African-American man that's a fan of the game of basketball and knows its history and knows what's right and what's wrong, I would not come to the game tomorrow, whether I was a Clipper fan or a Warrior fan, in the Staples Center tomorrow."

A lot of it is, as Bomani Jones put it, phony outrage. Every media outlet is just trying to be more offended and more melodramatic than the next.

I've already made the point that if indeed that was the case he'd be getting some shit for it, probably fined and suspended, but in a year it would just be a thing the jerk once said. The players would be glad to give the guy shit, but then again 90% of the league isn't Asian or gay. The NBA is fundamentally 'black'. It just is. The dude crossed the line. Same thing would happen if some Nascar owner started attacking rednecks.

And I'm not shocked by the reactions. Black people know that some white people think shitty things about them, but you can't nor should you control another's thoughts. But when people say ugly things, then a reaction ensues. Why is it controversial?

And honestly, the recording isn't even THAT bad. Yes, he's a fucking pig, but he sounded more jealous of who his mistress was hanging out with than racist. Oh, and everybody seems to forget that his gold-digging mistress illegaly recorded him AND baited him into and throughout the conversation.

If this were a police interrogation & used as a confession, it would be thrown out of court. Unlawful recording of a conversation, entrapment, etc. It's troubling that someone in his position would make these comments, but realistically, we shouldn't have even heard them.
