I would love to see the elite level guys in person. We have a speed skating club at one rink here (all short track) and they are crazy fast. And these are just guys that get together for fun.

going from a full stop, the Dutch dude did 500m in 34.6 seconds.
some of the s on the board might be able to estimate acceleration and top speed from that,
but even just extrapolating that's 52km/hour, or 32mph on average.
