A guy who outplayed cutler in the same offense and a promising young talent to be groomed by a great qb instructor, just my opinion bro.

A 35 year old career backup QB is never the answer, no matter how well he played in short stretches recently. Especially when the games he played well in were against the 15th, 31st, & 32nd ranked defenses in the NFL.

I mean how could you be that glib to ask why I'd care what a huge division rival does? LMAO how ignorant can you be!?

I understand that...I just don't understand the 15 pages of the same regurgitated opinion?

We get it...you're a douchebag Packers fan.

The formula of drafting a QB and having a journeyman hold down the fort for a couple years, rarely works in today's NFL. Most teams that have tried that plan have failed. Cutler isn't elite yet, but he's a good above average QB and still has several more years of being in his prime. Signing him was the right move.

Of course what most McCown fanatics keep ignoring is the fact that he's talking about retiring. He might not even play next season.

you just answered your own question.

uh...no I didn't?? :wtf:

You stated we shoulda signed McCown, let Cutler walk and draft a QB. That is rebuilding!!?? Why the fuck would we wanna go into "rebuild" mode, when all the pieces are already there??

Your opinion that we should've have rode a stop-gap, 34 yr old journeyman, while we groom the QB of our future(that we haven't drafted yet, and have no way of knowing whether said hypothetical draft pick will succeed or flop) all while wasting years off the most talented offense we've ever had is flat-out asinine.

Its not wasting it if you feel mccown is the better player right now than cutler or at least functions in this offense better which many do. After 2 years forte and marshall are old anyways. Also a rookie with promise would most definitely be ready to take the keys after a year of sitting and learning.

its funny the mccown nay sayers always bring up " hes just a jourymen", but leave out the fact he clearly out played cutler. should have never been benched to begin with in favor of cutler

im sure bears could have kept him out of retirement if we didn't resign cutler.

also what if they hit it in the draft like lets say seattle , philly, with a QB

totally possible in this draft full of QB's
