the length of the contract suggests it may be severely back end loaded to be more cap friendly

good decision to re-sign him if you ask me - absolutely nothing wrong with that offense

You are a breath of fresh air my friend.

Probably the same way it felt to own them for 40 of the first 50 peewee

Oh you mean the games you didn't see, anyways if you're that old you probably remember all 4 packers Super Bowl wins to your paltry 1. However I'm just wondering how it feels to be OWNED by the pack for the last 20 yrs of your life??

Look I think Wilson is a good QB & the Seahawks wouldn't be where they are with out him. And I definitely see him as being a few notches above Kap. But his numbers and success are as much a product of the team around him if anything else. Switch the QB(s), run the same offenses, & I bet that cutler would put similar if not better numbers in Seattle than Wilson.

Are you joking? The only reason the offense works is because Wilson doesn't turn the ball over and is so efficient. If Cutler were here he'd be turning the ball over like he always had and it would cost the team games. And throw him behind the offensive line that Wilson was playing with this season and he would have been sacked 60 times. He's obviously not an elite qb but saying Cutler could run this offense is a joke.

i agree Mike. I think you and I are on the same page with most things. Wilson is ok but I've been scratching my head at the people who are all over this guy as a phenomenal QB and putting him into MVP/OPOY/Elite categories.

He has below average pocket presence/pocket awareness. He can typically made the right read eventually though and he's fairly accurate, especially deep. He's an 'above average' starting NFL QB. But, he is NOT the top QB in the NFL, nor is he top 5. Top 10? I would have to look at it closer and break it down. It's a possibility, but everyone who is just looking at his stats and claiming this guy is the best or one of the best isn't considering how little is put on his shoulders. The hawks only call pass plays about 55% of the time, which is extremely low in today's NFL. Their offense is predicated on running the ball. a LOT. This makes defenses often bring guys up, which then opens up the passing game, especially the deep ball, making Wilson's job a LOT easier.

Like I said, the guy's pocket awareness and ability to read and make decisions quickly is a bit suspect but maybe that will improve. But, right now, he is not in the elite category.

Wislon does have a fumbling issue and even when he turns the ball over he has a defense to bail him out not like Cutler has.

you should watch more of Wilson.

i give a long, detailed, concise analysis of wilson and you come back with 'you should watch more of Wilson' ?? Good comeback.

i can assure you i've forgotten more about the game of football than you have ever known and that I watch more of a variety of teams/players play on a regular basis than you do. Living in your box as a fan with allegiance to only one team skews your knowledge and viewpoints.

Choose not listen to my opinions if you want but trust me, I've seen enough of Wilson to know where he is currently at in his development.

The ONLY guy on that list that's won ANYTHING is Flacco??

So how are they better? I'd take Jay over any of those I listed.

And not one of them on that list has a resume that is worse then Jays. They are at least equal to Jay.

Didnt grasp just showed how your a bandwagon fan:omg::yahoo:

Yep I'm a bandwagon fan because I happen to like a couple teams from the state I grew up in and one from the state I have family history in. Great argument there bud, fact is I've loved the teams I love all my life and for you to say anything other is a stupid assumption you can't prove. Also the packers OWN the bears. I just got to see them kick the bears asses again in a huge game in front of all those shitty bitter bears fans and it felt fkn great. Fact is the team I love is in the playoffs and they beat the team you love to be there, AMEN!!!

You said they were better than Jay...not the other way around. I said they weren't better....maybe equal to, but not better, as you originally claimed.

I didn't make that list. Now after going through and reading every single page of this (btw how did this become about Russell Wilson? Way to hijack a thread Seachickens fans) and seeing multiple posts where you say Ryan, Flacco etc are overrated...how is Jay not overrated? What has he done that is far superior then any of those guys?
RG3 we do need to see whats going to happen. But if he comes back and is only 80% of the RG3 we saw in 2012...how is Jay better then that? Numbers don't lie my man....and the numbers don't support anything you have said in these 9 pages of Jay Cutler and is Russell Wilson a good QB talk.

He doesn't have a "fumbling issue". He got sloppy with the ball a couple of games this season but he's solid considering how much he gets hit/sacked. And this isn't about Wilson. It's about Wilson vs. Cutler. Cutler would have been on his ass half of the season with the offensive line play that the Seahawks had most of the year. And as far as getting bailed out, he doesn't put himself in the position where that needs to happen as much as other QB's do. He has 9 picks, and two of them came in desperation time against the Colts and the 49ers where a prayer was the only option. Like I said, claiming that the Seahawks would be able to run this offense this season with Cutler is a joke. He's not mobile enough to handle some of the god-awful line play that the Seahawks had because 3/5th's of the starters were out.

PackMaster....there is no trying to use relevant and actual facts and data to some Bear fans. They are blind to facts. It is best to just let them spew their venom and move on. BUT, that sure was a glorious site watching the Rodgers to Cobb connection inside Soldier Field. GO PACKERS......

16 fumbles in two seasons a pretty big number. He was fortunate to only lose eight of them.

While, obviouisly there are qB's on that list I would take over Jay, including Aaron Rodgers, to say ALL those QB's on that list are better than Cutler is showing bad judgement. In my mind, Jay is a second tier QB, shackled with a pathetic O line for years and years and a host of ineffective and pathetic (see Tice) O coordinators. You see what has happened this season with a proper O coordinator and GM bringing in talent. While the D fell apart the O was the second most productive in the NFL behind Denver.

Fact is, I wouldn't take Flacco, Rivers, Dalton or Romo over Jay, just to name 4 off the top of my head, in fact I wouldn't take RG III over Jay either, I have a bad feeling they may have ruined his knee this year.
