The RRS win prompted a commit from 2015 RB Jordan Stevenson from Dallas Skyline. He's 5'8" 185# and has 4.37 speed. He's the #18 RB in the nation per 247 composite and is the Longhorn's #9 commit.

Texas has the most commits in the Nation. Here are the others.
Jalen Campbell, DB, 5'11" 175#
Keke Coutee, Ath, 5'10" 170# 4.5
Bryce English, DT, 5'11" 312#
Aaron Garza, OL, 6'2" 302#
Connor Lanfear, OL, 6'6" 270#
Johnny Shaw, DB, 6'1" 188#
Maea Teuhema, OL, 6'5" 335#
Patrick Vahe, OL, 6'3" 290#

I'm amazed of the size of these recruits.

I like this kid. Texas needs a find a power back to compliment him. He is more of a Daje type guy. I would be more excited, but given the uncertainty surrounding the program it is hard. There is a good chance that a new staff is in and the process will start over, which could be a positive or a negative.

in refference to your amazement on the sizes could you be more specific? I assume you were referring to the fact that half are under 190 and the other half are over 270 with none in between?

These are 16 yo kids and some of them are more than 6'3" and really large. They can be expected to grow inches more before they become Longhorn freshman.
When I graduated from HS, I was 5'8-9" and grew another 3 inches.

This became a much bigger commit. Shorter was injured this weekend. Suffered a concussion and 2 pitched nerves. Apparently he is having issue with feeling one of his arms. Very scary. Hopefully he recovers and I mean in the sense of being a healthy kid again, not just for football.

Nothing much to post about but here's an update.
The current verbal recruits:
Jalen Campbell, DB, 5'11" 175# ****
Bryce English, DT, 5'11" 312# ***
Connor Lanfear, OL, 6'6" 270# ***
Johnny Shaw, DB, 6'1" 188# ***
Patrick Vahe, OL, 6'3" 290# ****
Jordan Stevenson, RB, 5'9" 185 ***

Texas is recruiting an Arkansas TE, Will Gragg from Pine Bluff. 6'4" 241# **** We have a chance of landing him since he has been a Longhorn fan since the VY days. He became an Arkansas fan when his brother, who is now in the pros with the Bills, attended that school. He is being recruited by Bruce Chambers.

Sounds like Gragg would be great to get. I would also like to see them get some size on that offensive and defensive line.

Size looks good. I'm all for getting the biggest guys we can. The 6'5" 220lb guy just needs to hit the weights. He'll be fine.

Texas got their 8th pledge when Rockwall-Heath's Deshon Eliott, a 3 star S/OLB committed on Tuesday. He's 6'1", 200# and picked the Longhorns over the lil' brothers. He held offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas Tech.

This is a good get. In other news Texas offered Burrell, OT out of Virginia. Deshon is coming with Omenihu (Sp?) this weekend to catch practice. They will be joined by Chris Warren and Malik Jefferson (#1 player in Texas)

I would argue that Texas got 2 of the top 3. Tuehema is likely stepping inside, at best he is a right tackle prospect. Elberts is #1 and going to A&M. He is the most polished of the group. I think Texas kids have more upside, but more risk. As both are more raw.

Rivals has got Vahe and Weathersby as the 2 best guards in Texas. They write that the best tackles in Texas are Tuehema, Dyer(with no offer from Texas) and Elbert.

I do recognize that it has been pointed out that Mack recruited players who had already maxed out in HS.

What have you read about the 2015 class? Will it be 25+?
