There are currently 66 players on Scout that have interest in Iowa, of which only 9 have offers from the Hawkeyes, the biggest name is Darrion Daniels, but his list is Baylor, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ok State, Texas Tech...the interesting thing is his younger brother class of 2017 also has an Iowa offer already. So who knows...some good players out there as well.

I'd love to see Daniels take a chance on Iowa. Kid is a stud.

it might help that we already offered his little brother, who seems to be a stud too

Heavy class for offensive players. Just a few defensive players. Interesting.

Looks like KF has the 12th best recruiting class in the B1G - give or take a spot or two. The coaching staff has their work cut out for them in coaching these guys up to more than 8 wins on their season.

My expectations are very low. Nothing with what is happening in the program makes me feel the program is moving in the right direction. These guys could all hit and be very valuable members in the program.

The work has begun.

right, 12 in one service, 7th in another, etc...those services that do the rankings try their best, but they are not able to really tell potential in its entirety, 5 stars crap out, walk on players exceed

For teams like us they don't really matter. For the cream of the crop teams, rankings mean a bunch. Almost every #1 ranked recruiting class the past dozen or so years has won the Nat title a couple years later (heard that yesterday on "the Herd")

interesting, I did see a stat that said Iowa is second to only Missouri in putting 3 stars in the NFL, so we do get kids in that do well, then can play at the next level. I think where it is important is this...when you have a lot of kids that can do well, then as a team, you excel. We get kids that can do well, but as a team we don't have that talent across the board.

So a OSU team that has that talent across the board gets the NCG and has say 12 kids to push through to NFL, we get say 4 kids in the NFL, but that means of the 22 total offense and defense, 18 will not make it, which then equates to fewer wins for the college years...thus our quandary and frustration the last few years.

We do have talent, but it just isn't across the boards...that said, look at Drew Tate, CFL champion, big time player in the CFL, likely not an NFL player, vs say a Mariota, who was a 3 star I think and will go top 3. Then again, you have a Tebow, who was an awesome college player who is not in the NFL at all and not in the CFL or anything. Just crazy to figure out.
