I went to Mines. No way in hell is CU better than Mines.
If so, tell me why Mines Graduates have one of the HIGHEST starting salaries?
GOLDEN, Colo., July 28, 2011 – Colorado School of Mines is once again the top-ranked public university in the nation for starting salaries of graduates with bachelor’s degrees according to PayScale’s 2011-2012 College Salary Report. Mines graduates posted a median starting salary of $63,400 and a mid-career salary of $106,000.
Mines also ranked sixth among the report’s compilation of all colleges and universities (including private institutions) for starting salary, and 20th for midcareer salary.
“The average salary of new graduates from Mines is a real indication of the technical and professional value they bring to many corporations. Companies, nationally and worldwide, consider Mines students and graduates to be at the top of their field, explaining why Mines is on the top 10 university recruiting list for many companies,” said Jean Manning-Clark, Colorado School of Mines Career Center director, employee relations.
If so, tell me why Mines was rated #14 on the Return On Investment and was ranked higher than every other public college/university in America?
According to the list below, graduates of the Colorado School of Mines earn a starting median salary of $63,400. And they didn't have to dig themselves into a hole to get it: The cost of tuition and fees is only $17,718 for in-staters; $32,748 for out-of-staters. Sure, maybe they'll have to wield a pickaxe now and then, but, after work, they'll be the ones graciously picking up the tab for Harvard grads who forgot to wire home for money.
The list below gives each school's name and location, followed by its graduates' median starting and how much they paid for tuition and fees. The cost figures come from U.S. News' annual college ranking.
1. Loma Linda University Loma Linda, CA $64,600 ($29,096)
2. Harvey Mudd College Claremont, CA $64,400 ($44,442)
3. Molloy College Rockville Center, NY $64,000 ($24,420)
4. Colorado School of Mines Golden, CO $63,400 ($17,718 in-state/ $32,748 out-)
5. Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Worcester, MA $61,200 ($41,380)

Not to mention, when my Frat would go play the frat at Boulder or Ft. Collins, we always kicked their asses in softball or flag football.
Once Boulder chicks found out we were from Mines, they quit talking to us. But the girls up in Ft. Fun and Greeley liked to talk to us.
