I will say it again, clutch is not tangible or explainable. It's what you call something you cannot explain. So I know there are doubters out there when it comes to the term clutch in sports. Before the series I pointed out that the big dogs for the A's (Crisp, Donaldson, Cespedes, and Reddick) were executing the things the game asks of them at a much higher rate when it counts the most than the Rangers big dogs (Kinsler, Andrus, Beltre, and AJP). Well here you go, the A's scored 15 runs in the series, 8 of which were scored by their big dogs. More telling than that, 11 of the 15 were driven in by those four players by doing what the game asked of them in scoring opportunities. The Rangers big dogs repeatedly failed to produce with runners on thus leading me to conclude that the A's are significantly better at coming through in big situations than the Rangers.
Call it what you want, that's clutch to me plain and simple.
Not really. It started last year when MY got all the playing time with Olt and Profar being called up. They traded Young to stop it from happening, and wouldn't you know it Wash goes and plays Murphy a bunch this year. That's not really assumption.

Do what?
Why would they willingly eat Salary for MY to be traded when the only thing they got in return for him leaving was Lindbloom? They didn't want him to hurt the team by playing everyday.i'm afraid it is. you assume that they traded MY because Wash wouldn't play Olt and Profar but there is nothing that confirms that other than the trade. there was nothing from the FO indicating that that was the reason because the standard reaction from a FO in this kind of situation would be the Manager being fired for not conforming to the team's plan of operation.
and that is true this season too. if the FO disagreed with his decision to continue playing Murphy this season the standard FO reaction would have been to fire Wash regardless of the team's record.

Well what I think doesn't really matter. They could back in and get hot and surprise people. Other teams have done it, but I don't really expect it to happen.I'm saying do you think they can go far in the playoffs or do they have no chance? Sorry about that
So a lot of people are not happy with the Rangers taking silly pictures on the plane and carrying on with their lives, because they just lost 6 straight at home. Personally, I have no problems with it. You cannot left playing like crap ruin your life. You also cannot allow fan perception allow to you alter your life. Why should athletes feel bad about pissing us off by losing? I cannot make someone that doesn't know I exist mad about letting me down, because I put some crazy expectation on him. Sometimes fans go a little to far into the delusional range and expect players to act like sad sacks, because they've been losing.
I won't disagree with you there. I wish we could explain it, but we cannot. The Rangers just are not doing enough to win games. Whatever you wanna call that it stinks to watch.Hey Rev, glad to see you joined me in opting not to jump off a bridge. If the word clutch was used to describe something that cannot be explained, I would be calling the home stand and the ranger offense clutch. Let's just say the difference in the division the past two septembers has been the disparity between their key players ability to come through down the stretch and the Rangers key players. You're right labels are not required, the facts are the facts and for us there are shitty facts.
Well what I think doesn't really matter. They could back in and get hot and surprise people. Other teams have done it, but I don't really expect it to happen.
How is that accepting losing? Fans needs to chill and let players live without telling them how to act. I never liked when people told Josh what to do. Yeah I wanted the guy to just shut up and play, but that's obviously not who he was. Seems weird for people that don't play trying to project their own emotions on players.Still I don't like that mentality because you want to win it all. I don't like to accept losing
