I can breathe easier now that we signed Guerrero to a 5 year deal. Now this means we dont chase Cano in the offseason thank you lord and we dont trade Zach lee for Howie Kendrick so we will have Lee as a 4th or 5th starter. Now I think Uribe is making a good case to be brought back on a one year deal for third, but Freese and Headley are out there for trade as well. What do you guys think?

If the Dodgers can make a REASONABLE deal for Freese or Headley, I believe they would do that since their thinking would be long term. If not, Uribe could definitely be brought back if he settles for a one year deal.

Guerrero would pencil in quite well at 2B. This kid can hit. If he plays just decent defense the Dodgers could be set at 2B for a few years.

If we got Headley or Freese long term then what would happen once Corey Seager is ready?

Freese/Headley would become free agents when Seager is ready

Cory Seager is at least two years away from the Big Leagues, and maybe three. He would have to really explode at AA and/or AAA to make the big club. In the meantime, Headley or Freese would man 3B until Seager is ready or another acquisition is made.

Guerrero could ultimately be moved to 3B, a position he also plays, and a 2B could be acquired.

A lot of possibilities, but the prospects for upgrades at 2B and/or 3B are looking good.

I just think that with signing Guerrero we wont go after Cano now which is a good thing.

According to Stan Kasten the Dodgers are not interested in signing guys up to any more "mega deals". Of course, that doesn't mean the Dodgers won't kick the tires a little where Cano is concerned.

I think the likelihood of the Dodgers signing Cano is remote.

Dodgers may try to drive up the price on Cano but they better not sign Cano.

Guerrero is 26, I heard he doesn't need any seasoning either so we may see him soon, not sure about this year but definitely next year. Excited to see what he can do.

I go back to the rumor floating around the press box at Busch Stadium... Ethier and Gordon to St Louis for Freese and a prospect.
That would be a win/win for both team IMO. Gordon is the SS the Cards need for the future and Freese needs to break from the pressure of being the hometown hero and it breaks up the log jam in the OF in LA.

So then the lineup looks something like this in 2014

Crawford,Puig,A Gone,Kemp,Han Ram,Freese,Guerrero,Ellis

Looks good to me!

He's not postseason eligible, so he may not join the Dodgers until spring training.

It's about time. :hope:

Yes it is! Mccourt put us through hell! I wish opposing fans would understand why the new ownership is spending money. They want us to experience a winning team after all we have been through with Mcfraud!

I understand the apprehension about where all this money is coming from, but if you can get more brand name stars like Cano just take them. That goes farther towards winning 2 or 3 titles. Ethier will probably stay too because the chicks dig him there. The phantom investors or the Rothchilds must really want a great team in Cal for a while. The 9ers should win the Superbowl this year too.

My issue with signing Cano is eventually his overpaid contract would come back to bite us in the behind and I dont want to bei n the position that the Angels are currently in.

Still no Guerrero. He has signed with Scott Boras, though.

He wants more money than was previously agreed to. This doesn't sound like it's going to be a fun process.
