I wouldn't bring up any of the Dodger pitchers in the Minors next season. They all need more seasoning. Beckett may well take a Rotation spot as Billingsley is not going to start the season ready to go, IMO, and Nolasco may go elsewhere. If Ned can throw away money on guys like Lilly, Harang and Capuano, he should be able to re-sign Nolasco. BUT, this is Ned we're talking about who is more than capable of screwing things up.

The Dodgers should avoid rushing their young pitchers. They have time to develop.

Belisario? He's been one of the most consistent and reliable relief pitchers all season.

Do you even watch baseball?

Also, the Marmol trade was fantastic.

Onelki Garcia called up for middle relief. Maybe a preview of his stuff, to see if he can join the rotation (or at least make the roster) for 2014 or 2015.

The main reason Garcia was called up is apparently to give lefties Paco Rodriguez and JP Howell a breather before the playoffs. Both pitched in last night's close game however.

I don't really care about homefield, I think we should rest our guys up after we clinch.

Belisario? He's been one of the most consistent and reliable relief pitchers all season.

Frankly, Belisario has been anything but consistent. Consider that this year he is 5-7 with an Era of 3.43 and. WHIP of 1.413. In 63 IP he has given up 68 hits, hit 5 batters and been hit at the rate of a .279 clip. His K/BB rate is a little over 2.00. Very pedestrian.

In the last 28 days he been hit at a .324 mark.......375 in the last 14 days.......and .182 during the last 7 days.

The only thing consistent about Belisario is his inconsistency. I hold my breath whenever he comes in. If he pitches like this in the playoffs, the Dodgers will have a problem.

They aren't that bad, Belisario is a decent pitcher, Marmol is a decent reliever, Capuano is okay, League is garbage, Volquez hasn't shown too much for me yet

You're citing W-L for a relief pitcher. And ERA. Oh man, I don't even know why I'm bothering...

He's not a strikeout guy so I don't know why you're bringing that up either. Belisario is a sinker-ball, ground-out pitcher. Hits happen when you're pitching to contact. Not every grounder will make it a spot that can be fielded. That's why you need to look at the BABIP, but, of course, I'm pretty sure you didn't.

As to "pedestrian" - well duh. I didn't say he was a beast. I said that he's reliable (close to the tops in MLB for relief innings). He does what's asked. There's plenty of value to be had in that.

This coming from the guy who thinks MLB has a salary cap. Seriously, just give up now.

1st off i know that MLB doesn't have a salary cap i ment to say that Bekette would still be on the Dodger salary next year honest mistake if i typed it wrong...most of us in here know each other from the ESPN boards & play around i've been a Dodger fan all my life but it seems like you kind of come in here to disagree with other Dodger fans from reading all your post & sort of trolling. Stay classy you will get banned here, Moderaters & fans in here have zero tolerance for that!

LOL... We're fans of the same team so we have to agree on everything? Okay, dude.

You don't even know how payroll works in MLB. You don't know how to spell the players' names. I wonder why I don't agree with your complete lack of understanding of the sport and player value....

As to the Moderators, they can warn me when they feel the need - I'm sure they don't need you to do their job for them. And for the fans? I'm one of them. I'm a die-hard Dodger fan and I always have been.

Honest mistake that you typed it wrong? Please..... You only said it twice, pal.

You don't have to agree with me i can care less but don't assume that i don't know how MLB works & player value...i say my opinions (BASED ON WHAT I HAVE LEARNED & SEEN IN BASEBALL ALL THIS YEARS) & stick to them the same way you do all i'm saying so far reading your comments you already calling people names (retard) relax dude we ain't enemies...like you said we are all dodger fans Lol!

As far as moderaters i was just giving you you a heads up from 1 Dodger fan to another but i'm glad to see you know because some don't at times.

If you want we can get in to a real debate on another site that us Dodger fans hang out on during games if your intrested i can send you the links ?? then we can really go at it back & forth i'm always good for a great debate even some trolling but not here

GO DODGERS!!:yahoo:

I did take a look at Belisario's BABIP and didn't add it because it makes him look even worse. W/L, ERA are not, by themselves, indicative of how effective a pitcher is or isn't, but taken with all the other Stats certainly shows a tendency. In this case, all the Stats taken together strongly suggest that Belisario is an inconsistent pitcher. If he is traded during the off season I, for one, won't miss him.

As far as a salary cap in MLB.......there is no salary cap per se, but there is a threshold that when surpassed triggers a " luxury tax". So, one might say that MLB has a quasi-salary cap.

For now, let's go out and win the WS. I suspect that is the Dodgers priority right now.
