Back on track for the thread though...
I would ABSOLUTELY target Martin at #3. Omly two factors would change my mind..if AP somehow fell, or if he was gone.
I wouldnt subscribe to any set strategy like RB/RB/WR..or whatever, but 8n a ten teamer my best advice would be to have at least 2 RB's and 2 WR's before considering any QB. Like Will mentioned, everyone is going to have a great QB in a ten team league, so the advantages of getting a top 3-5 one are negligible at best.
Good luck

Definitely take an RB first. No doubt about it. Megatron is great, but not more valuable than any of the top 10 RBs due to depth at the WR position. Same thing with Brees. I would grab your choice of RBs first, then take the best available (either WR or RB) in round 2, unless Brees is there since you clearly like him a lot.

If you don't like Martin, and Foster is gone (may not be) then you could take Richardson, Spiller, Charles or Lynch. All of whom would be much better than taking a WR or QB.

Brees may be available in the second round, and if he isn't, you should be able to draft your choice of the next tier of QBs in round 4 (Kaeps, RG3, Ryan, Brady, etc.)

If you take Brees at #3 overall, what advantage do you really gain over somebody who takes RG3 in the 5th? Aside from less injury risk, I don't really see one.

I actually think the drop in value at the top is equally steep for WR and RB - the top guy will probably give you 50 more FF points than the 8th guy. The way drafts are going, though, you can still get a top-3 WR in the 2nd.

Megatron is in a world of his own, though. I'd be surprised if someone took him that high, but I wouldn't laugh at them.

Don't forget Charles as a possibility at #3. That O should be better, and he should see more passes as well.

The last two out of 4 mock drafts I've done, the #1 pick took Megatron. Other guys asked why screw up the draft and the person picking just said he's going to be a beast this season due to getting tackled on the 1 8 or so times last season and saying that won't happen this season. I definitely wouldn't take him that high but surprised that people are picking him in the top 5 in a lot of mocks

What about McCoy? With Kelly's offense in college, the RB has gotten a lot of yards both rushing and passing and it sounds like it will be an uptempo offense he's running. I see him going late in the 1st round but think he could surprise people this season

I like McCoy a lot. I just couldn't take him in the top half of round 1 due to uncertainty. The other guys seem a little safer.

Before Spiller and Richardson? I've heard hype about Spiller for the last couple years so maybe that's why I'm not too excited of him but he's being taken 6th overall. I just see McCoy being able to thrive in an up tempo offense more than Spiller does this season

The exact reason I avoid mock drafts, other than with the people I know are serious. All it takes is one guy to make the whole thing virtually worthless

I think this whole Chip Kelly up tempo offense is really a load of bunk. #1 the officials don't allow that type of pace in the NFL, the defense is allowed a chance to set while the ump retreats to position and unlike the spineless PAC 10 officials who bent to his pressure..Ed Hochuli and Co. will tell hem to shove it. #2 Neither QB on the roster is a "field general" capable of running anything on the fly. So realistic expectations really need to come down to earth a bit, IMHO. McCoy is going to have a good season, especially considering the lack of quality QB, and the lack of NFL worthy WR'S, but 8t won't be due to some magical offense

Get Ryan. He's going to tear the league up this year with Gonzo, Julio and Roddy White to throw to. Falcons offense is going to be awesome.

I went all in on the Falcons last year, with Ryan and Julio on every team. I agree that their offense is awesome, but you need to be careful about over-drafting them because:

The play calling is still super conservative once they get a lead. I can't see that changing now that they have a legit RB. Although, there has been talk about opening the offense up every year, and it hasn't really happened. I have heard nothing of the sort this year, so does it finally happen?

I'd have no problem rolling with Ryan as my QB and SJax my #2 or Gonzo as my TE; thing is with Julio and Roddy seemed like it was one or the other each week..................IMO SJax makes Ryan better as now he has another receiver if needed. In my money league I'm praying SJax falls to me at #30................depending on who is kept that is a very good possibility.

Well, it may have to happen because our defense is going to be worse than last year. But yeah, there is talk of giving the rock to Steven Jackson a pretty good bit. I just think that with receivers like Julio, White, Douglas and Gonzo you can't go wrong with Ryan.

A long day late chiming in

let me say all the above advice is great

at pick 3 no Qb never never never

Rb all the way only player that can or should come the in first round that isnt an Rb is Calvin..or maybe Dez at 10 if Calvin is gone but only in a 10 teamer because it might as well be pick 11-and not Calvin before pick 6 or 7

i like many will always (or almost always) will have 2 Rb 2 wr after 4 rounds--maybe 2 rb 1 wr and Jimmy Graham if when i pick in 2nd round Calvin-Dez -AJ are already gone

if you love Brees that much maybe in 3rd if he is sitting there...However if you load up without a Qb early you may be able to swing a deal later on for Brees

He's already stated he won't ask for the ball to be spotted earlier but I do think he comes out with a more of a 2 minute offense (which as much as it works I don't see why more teams in the NFL don't run it more). I don't see either QB as a "field general" but with their early schedule I can see the offense putting up some big numbers and you get Vick rolling in uptempo for first couple of games, this offense could be very good (although it has just as much chance to fail).
