So that Blackhawks sideline reporter was apparently fired this morning.

The story out of Chicago is that Comcast Sports Network fired her NOT because of her slip up (hey, that happens to all of us), but because of her racy language that was on some Internet network in a job she had prior to this one.

First off, doesn't CSN check the internet and her prior work BEFORE even hiring her? And second, what does her Freudian slip have to do with anything? Her work on CSN was proper.

But to add my two cents...I think she shouldn't have been fired. But I don't think she should have been HIRED for two reasons...the prior work she did with a potty mouth before working for CSN...and if you ever saw her interview ANY of the Blackhawks, she really is an idiot. I know some really knowledgeable fans who really know hockey and the Blackhawks. Susannah didn't seem like she knew too much about either and I always felt she got the job due to the eye candy. Now, I'm not sexist, but if you're hiring someone for a job, make sure they know what they are talking about. Susannah looked lost out there for the most part and always asked just the pedestrian of questions that a fourth grader would have asked. Stuff like "how did you feel when you scored that goal" and "isn't exciting being in the playoffs" aren't the kind of questions I want a reporter to ask.

Aside from the sex appeal and the trying to win over a female audience, I have no idea why networks insist that they must have a female "reporter" rinkside, or sideline, or in the stands "reporting".

And if CSN wants someone who is super knowledgeable AND is a female, then hire Tracy Myers. She's sharp as can be, knows hockey, knows the Hawks, does a great job as a print reporter and has a 30 second snippet during the first period where she comes off as someone who can ask the right questions. Kudos to Tracy.

Announcer in this game just said...

"Even though he hit the puck with his stick after he kicked it, they are going to waive it off because of the distinct kicking motion."

:L
Uh, no he didn't get it with his stick. And someone clearly needs to brush up on the rulebook.

How can you have a "sideline" reporter in hockey. Also if she's a potty mouth what's wrong with that? :noidea:

Jesus, they fired her for this...

It was a slip up. And to be fair, Patrick Kane is running all over town and probably HAS had a lot of sex this season.

Maybe you can offer her a play to stay.

Give her a call, Boss... if you don't fall asleep watching Minnesota play hockey.

I'm pulling for them, but yaaaaawn. They are one boring squad to watch.

Blackhawks...too deep, too strong, too fast, too good.

Wild have no chance in this series as they continue to be outplayed on almost every shift.

Hawks have it going. Almost 50 shots on goal tonight. Wacky bounces that all went the Hawks (Frolik's) way. Stellar goaltending by Crawford.

Someone please call the slaughter rule and get this over already.

Things playing out well for the Hawks in the playoffs so far. Hawks up 2-0. Wings take away home ice from the Ducks, tied 1-1. Canucks losing 2-0 and now have to go to the Shark Tank. Blues up 2-0.

In the "other" conference, Pens blow a 3-1 lead and lose to the plucky Islanders and the series is tied 1-1. Hmmm, thought the Pens were gonna blow teams away. Oh yeah, that's right...no defense. And really bad goaltending tonight.
