I'm not sure there's a good solution to faking injuries. They could start by making an injured player sit out the rest of the possession but what's stopping a defense from putting in a scrub and designating him as a fall guy?

I called out one of the ND players after he went down just as our offense was starting to establish our tempo and get into a rhythm but when they came back from commercial break he was being carried off on a stretcher and never came back in the game. It's impossible to tell whether or not someone is actually hurt.

If someone is too hurt to play but can still walk off on their own power they have to go down or else the offense won't let them substitute. Watching ASU I've noticed that when we start going Nascar pace we'll call plays to keep the ball on the hash closest to our sideline so the defense can't substitute. From a strategical standpoint I think it's awesome that we do that but there's also the concern for player safety. I'm sure most HUNH teams do the exact same thing.

Well, just keep your eye on Jahii. Sutton will find him sooner or later. When he does Jahii will lose a few pounds.

Hopefully Sutton does't go after the real Jahii :laugh3:

That's not why defense is called defense.

"Fairness" rules for subs amounts to allowing the defense to substitute when the offense does, that's it. Has nothing to do with injuries. I'm not even talking about fake injuries here.

I'm just pointing out the reality of how players have no choice but to go to the ground for any and all injuries. Funny how you mention there are rules, but yet also want to add rules that punish teams for having injuries. And all because of how it affects your team.

Lets just keep changing the rules until your favorite team is best right?

There are already clauses in the book that say the faking of injuries are unsportsmanlike. Rules get adjusted as dickheads find ways to not use sportsmanship. The rules have to go in place because assholes don't do the right thing

Yes.. you?

So you never had a injury that you just needed to walk off or just needed a minute to get better?

Bullshit.

All I see in people like you are fans who just want to bend the rules to suit their own teams.

I'm not even talking about fake injuries. I'm saying that the days of players running off the field for smaller injuries that would have in the past are over, and that the player has to go down on the field to get off.

As for rules getting adjusted, they can get adjusted to get rid of the HUNH too you know.

There's probably nothing that can or will be done to prevent it. And it's really not that big of deal in most cases. But the idea that it's the offense's fault for moving fast so it's okay that defenses fake/exaggerate injuries is ridiculous to me.

There are no rules changes that will stop fakes or the prolonged sitting on the ground that won't put players at risk. Make them sit out the rest of the possession? Then players who really are dinged up will be trying to play hurt to avoid hurting their team and more serious injuries will be more common.

There is really no reason to argue over it. This is a part of the game and it's here to stay as long as the uptempo stuff is in style.

See my above post and I'll end with that rather than get into the whole "oh yeah, I've actually played a sport" thing with you. And faking/exaggerating injuries is bending the rules. Running a fast offense is not...

As for rules getting adjusted, they can get adjusted to get rid of the HUNH too you know.

Instead of denying they do it, teams should hire a drama instructor to teach players how to "fake" an injury. I mean we have movies where an actor is shot 47 times and doesn't bleed. We can do better on the field. We can adjust terminology to make is sound more noble. We could then have a drama critic to rule on the performance and if a player fails, it an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Or else we can just accept the fact that if a team wants to fake an injury, they will and there's not a damn thing you can do about it except cry. Most teams who have raised this issue are good at that. Crying I mean.

I never said anything about it being ok to fake injuries.

I'm saying that legit injuries that players would have in the past walked off the field for have no choice but to go to the ground now, for the specific reason of stopping play. Because they are not giving time to substitute, much less switch out for an injury.

It's the only way they can get off the field without putting their team down a player etc. So if you see some guy drop to the ground after a play, it doesn't exactly mean he isn't injured. He is probably not injured enough that he can't walk off the field, but due to the offense he isn't able to and has no choice but to drop to the ground.
