Gooden had the drug issues, Valenzuela the injuries. Not sure why Beckett lost it. Drinking beer during games?

It's just so weird to see a young guy with no apparent injuries just lose it. Maybe he had a lot less room for error than we thought. He never had great control, and now his fastball is generally in the 89-91 range. Guys just don't have to commit as early anymore.

It will suck indeed if what we saw last year and so far this year is the new Timmeh.
