UCLA offered Phillips as well, I don't think most places are looking at him for defense. I think he's a Center for most schools. We are pretty well stocked on OL recruits right now, and I think we chose Stoltenberg over Phillips. I think he goes to Stanford.

So you think husker will pass on him?

There is a reason why in-state recruiting is always so off the beaten path, in my opinion. It's because here in Nebraska a lot of kids grow up as huge Husker fans and dream of playing for Nebraska one day. So as a coaching staff, you know you have some leverage on the situation.

I can tell you right now, if USC, Oregon, Florida, Ohio State, Texas, and Alabama all offer me a scholarship and Nebraska just wants me to walk on............I'm walking on at Nebraska. I am that big of a Husker fan that I'd say screw the free tuition elsewhere.

So it may seem odd that we haven't offered this kid yet, but I believe it has to do with the fact that maybe he's as dumb as me and will just turn down all the other offers and walk on if Nebraska doesn't offer him.......or at least, maybe that is what the coaching staff is trying to feel out.

It's kinda shitty to play with in-state kids like that, but if you can manage to get an in-state stud to walk on, that is a huge score.

Can't beat a kid who plays with the pride and heart that comes with growing up in the NE and dreaming of playing for the Cornhuskers. If he's good enough to play at multiple other BSC schools then he's more than good enough to play for our pussy ass defense we fielded last season

That is seriously an understatement.

I would go as far as to say our Defensive unit was damn neared worthless last season.....

There was zero leadership, zero effort, zero care out there on the field.

I think Bo is going to start playing younger talent. I really want to see the jacksons's not related playing at cornerback

I think we're waiting to see how some other targets pan out before we offer. Ultimately though, I have a feeling we probably pass on him unless we miss out on some major targets. Kid is good, he's just on the edge of what we're looking for. Right now Stanford can take a chance because they have depth, if he doesn't develop there are 3 other guys that will, Nebraska doesn't have that luxury, we need to be more sure. i think he probably ends up at Stanford, but I wish we would offer to keep the talent in state.

That's not at all the case here. Finding that kid that will actually turn down thousands of dollars to pay money to play for Nebraska is going to be few and far between.

If they do not offer him they BETTER FIND TALENT EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN THE REMAINING CLASS AND DO NOT REACH. WE HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO REACH AT TIMES.

Doing some research and reading it sounds like Nebraska might be closer to offering than I initially expected. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get an offer as soon as tonight now. Good, I've wanted us to offer. Talented kid that will lay it all on the line and work hard doing it.

What do you guys think of the classes OSU and Michigan are putting together?

obviously very good classes... Michigan is most likely going to land Parrker Westphal who is one of the best CB prospects in the nation and one I wanted to come to Nebraska. I thought Michigan's class was a bit overrated last year, Shane Morris has real trouble with accuracy sometimes and there were a few others I thought were overrated. However, this year they have the best class in the B1G IMO, though OSU is not far behind.

That's good news, out of the DL's were chasing I've wanted this kid to get his offer. With the way things shook out the last 3 years on the Dline with injuries and quitters it will be good to have him

Fuck thousands of dollars!!!

I'd pay out the ass if it gave me a chance to play for the Huskers. What kid growing up in Nebraska is not seriously thinking that way??

Kid would have to be a damn loser...

As I said... thought it might happen tonight and it did. Puts us squarely in the conversation IMO. Would be a talented player to get.
