Did Trout lead the league in RBI's, Average, HR's absolutely not but look at what he did to

He turned around this Angels team that was ruled out early with an awful Albert Pujols and rejuvenated AP and this team. He was brought in at the age of 20 with all the pressure and expectations in the world. He not only met he surpassed those expectations. He didn't just do it with his bat, he was the best all around player in baseball. He may not been amongst the best in doubles, but so what. When he got on base he was the biggest threat to steal a bag. He could be on 1st and turn a single into an RBI, his speed was something we haven't seen in awhile. Now for his defense, sure Miguel Cabrera did a fairly nice job at his new 3B position. Mike Trout (who deserved the Gold Glove) robbed Home Run after Home Run and made spectacular catch after spectacular catch. I don't have fancy numbers to say why Trout should have won. All I know is that while Miguel Cabrera did something historic offensively, Mike Trout did something historic as a player. This has nothing to do with Metrics or WAR, this is baseball. Mike Trout is my MVP vote because he was the best player in baseball this season, and that is why he should be MVP

I'd give it to Posey and Trout.

Impact throughout the entire game. Helped the team win in so many different ways.

Buster did it!

Maybe a foregone conclusion for you guys but it was getting a little nerve wracking watching the MLB coverage (working from home)

Just add another great moment to one of the best Giants years of all time

Wow! Cabrera blows away Trout. Triple Crown and playoffs trump most every other consideration.

San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey was named the National League MVP on Thursday, earning the first-place vote on 27 of 32 ballots.

I thought it would be a lot closer

I wonder if sentimentality of having one guy with a career year vs. a rookie with the opportunity to have many awards in the future played a role, much like it does with all star selections.

All of this.

Also, they may have thought Trout winning the AL ROY was victory enough???

:confused2:

Don't get me wrong, I'm ok with Miggy winning. He had an outstanding year. That said, it's pretty disrespectful to the kid to be so far behind in the voting.

Definitely. Plus, 20 years down the road, no one will need to apologize for voting for a triple crown winner.

So, Buster wins the MVPosey, :bored: and we're arguing about Trout vs Miggy?

Well done, Buster! What a come back from last year!

Funny thing is I think the overall reaction mimics Buster Posey's understated approach to everything.

It's almost like watching Joe Montana..full appreciation comes after he is gone.

My favorite Buster Posey story was with Krukow in an elevator the night after winning 2010.
Kruk "(paraphrasing) you know, winning the world series doesn't happen every year.."
Buster's response "why not?"
