but I think we all agree that Mahomes is Mahomes because of their system and Andy Reid. That is one thing Caleb Williams will not ever have.

It would be absurd to think he is the next Mahomes........Eberfluss being Andy Ried......Kmet being Kelce.....but dont think we cant come close....

But it is not that absurd to think Eburfluss will not have a system in place to help CW succeed like they do,we got an up and coming oline,a great wr,a good te,add an extra no.1 at 9,extra pick or two from the JF trade and a salary that is plentiful.....
Thats a great resume to get started with.......

All top draftees know they will not be put in the best of places, this is why these teams are picking at the top of the draft.......( ya I know we all know this)
I trust Poles to use the salary cap correctly,to add at 9 either wr,te or olineman.......get the right pcs on offense first to get CW what he needs to succeed and I believe this offense wil be humming next season, not KC way,but better than I have seen in a longtime........( we deserve a top tier qb),lets not fuck it up,so fine tune it while we can.......

And all this in belief JF is traded,if not,we are still in a great place to add more pcs to the puzzle......

And as Ive said in an above post,CWs stock has not dropped, its just picking up steam......

Once you get passed the fingernails and crying in the stands, Caleb Williams is the best QB in this draft and probably the direction we go with.

Is he "Generational"? What does that even mean, ppl throw this term out for anything now of days
Is he the next Mahomes? I mean he does a lot of things that remind you of Mahomes but it's unrealistic to think he will produce at that level but doesn't make him a bust he does not immediately become a top 5 QB in the league

A lot of good stuff in there.....whaddya got for the negatives.....??
His ability to extend plays is a blessing and a curse.
He can extend plays and make big throws but there are times where this leads into bad INTs, fumbles or sacks

Redskins are going to suck next year regardless of who they take with their first rounder. They are one of the 8 teams that were worse than a fields led bears team. I almost want to trade back with DC so we get the first pick next year too.

NE is also a very good prospect for next seasons top pick, most likley a top 5 in worst case scenario.......I just dont see them that good either.

Both are in very competitive divisions with at least 2 contenders. Both have new HCs who look like they will be a disaster. Both are sorely lacking in talent. Both currently need a qb, so they won’t build much through the draft if they go qb first. It’d be nice to get both of their first picks next year, but I don’t think New England would make that trade to go up one spot.

These analysts and scouts are terrible. I refuse to trust their judgement.

We all seem to agree that Mahomes is exceptional. Seems to be smart as well as classy.

Where were all of these scouts and analysts on Mahomes? Most all of them had Trubisky and Watson #1 & #2 respectively. Now they want us to trust them again that CW is generational.

CW cant be the next Mahomes unless he's the 3rd QB off the board and wins a couple super bowls. If anything, CW can be the next Manning (pick either 1), or Mayfield, or Trevor.

I dont think we could pull off a double trade from 1 to 2 to 3 anyways........
Also add NEs wr list and Was's oline........not good.

I see one of them being bad for two years, being one will not have a top pick next season if we trade to one of them.....

Have fun with Drake Maye :thumb:

Tim Hasselbeck this morning says he called a lot of NC games this past season and says Maye would be his his no.1....he has size arm, makes great decisions...
Also showed CW with a 95 overall grade and Maye at 94.....not a big difference.

I hearya.......you dont know who to trust......If I remember right,Young was the consensus last season and got it wrong( so far ayways).....and a lot of posters thru out these boards had the same......
I dont watch cfb so I just rely on what I read or see on tape......

And so far Id be happy with one of the top 3 or Jf........this will probably change when I see the combine......and I will be watching.

Its not just QB. Everyone is looking for the next Justin Jefferson. He was the 5th WR taken in 2020.... after Henry Ruggs (wr1), Jerry Jeudy (wr2), and Jalen Reagor (wr4). Yikes.

Rookie failure is a given. But these analysts make all these comparisons to other NFL players. Only 8% of all drafted rookies will be better than the players theyre replacing. Fact. Which means 92% will be meh or bad.

Not too mention the Vikes drafted Jordan Addidon who is a complete stud at no.23,the 4th wr off the board, who I think is better than any of the 3 ahead of them.

But I like our chances if we go wr they will be better than any one we have not named Moore.

Would the 9th pick be feasible to pull this off.....or do we stick at 9......??

CW/Maye
Moore
JJ
Kmet

Thats the begining of a very nice lineup......

But I think Minnesota would want more,as in Arizonas pick at 4.

Is this a sign of the inevitable?

For those who don't have access to the Sun Times (you should sign up, it's free), the first paragraph pretty much sums it up:

Wide receiver DJ Moore, the star of the Bears’ offense, is still pushing for them to keep quarterback Justin Fields. But he’s ready to accept that they could use the No. 1 pick to draft USC’s Caleb Williams or someone else to reboot.

Maybe he's already heard something, maybe he's just speculating.

If he said this after the combine, I would probably say there’s something there. However, I don’t think the bears know who they will pick yet.

That's why I hedged my bets on this. Besides, as talented and important to our offense as DJ is, who's to say he's been given some kind of inside info. For all we know he's just following all the chatter taking place in the media and simply thinks Poles will take a QB, regardless of who that might be.

I went to the Bears convention back in the early 2000s,and I was getting an autograph from a current player( cant remember who) and said something about the up and coming draft on who the Bears should take, his reply was" us players do not get the luxury of sitting in with the draft talk"....

So unless somethijg leaked,Im sure it has not changed.......
