Maybe not climbing into the stands cause that was a little dramatic, but to have tears is to have tears.......
To me it was less the tears per se than it was him just flat out balling like a baby in mama's arms. A little over the top in my book. But I'll also agree this has very little to do with his raw talent. I'm doing my best in trying to get the whole package in perspective.

No matter what this kid has done...Nothing will ever match Matt Nagy hugging Trubisky and consoling him like a toddler while benching him during a nationally televised game.

Im one with pure belief as in the old saying goes " Theres no crying in baseball" type of guy.....

Especially when your on the 2nd grandest stage of football being viewed by millions upon millions........

Caleb Williams will have to live with that rest of his life and there will always be someone out there to remind him of that moment...........and Im 100% sure he will never fall into that again.

I'm pretty sure the going thought is we'll be speculating on all this for quite some time because Poles is weighing all his options. He still has to go thru the vetting process, ie combine, pro days, interviews, possible private workouts, etc. Plus he'll want to hear whatever offers will be coming his way for both the #1 pick as well as Fields.

I'll add a thought I had that wandered through my addled mind. The early hires by Poles of all the OC staff will also give them plenty of time to review Justin's game and render non hurried personal scouting reports on him to assist Poles in his decision making.

Rite on.....and well they should.

I just thought it was funny reading those comments......where they came up with some of those assumptions is funny....

I guess I have been going back to wondering why teams do not select the players and make the trade later. Some of us remember Eli Manning and his refusal to play for the chargers, who at the time had Drew Brees and Ladanian Tomlinson.

Manning was traded to the Giants. In the deal, the Giants got Manning while the Chargers received Rivers, a 2004 third-round pick (that turned into kicker Nate Kaeding), a 2005 first-round pick (used on linebacker Shawne Merriman) and a 2005 fifth-round pick.

Rivers was the fourth overall pick that same draft. Now I realize that list of 5 teams really had no backbone, but the deal still got the chargers two firsts, a third and a fifth. Last years deal got a player, (a great player who was not going to get resigned) Is it still enough if Harrison is picked 4th?

Part of me thinks we are going to end up with both.

No way. I don’t think the gap between MHJ, Nabors, and Okunze (?) is large enough to move up to take MHJ. I think if we take Caleb Williams odds are we take the WR or LT that falls to us or we trade back. I don’t think we will ever see Poles trade up for an early first. Too much draft capital for just one player.

There's one of those internet-suggested trades out there that has the Bears taking Williams with #1, while trading Fields and the #9 pick to NE for their #3, which of course we then select MHJ. While it's an interesting scenario, it's unrealistic and sounds like something Poles wouldn't seriously consider, and that's even assuming the Pats would go for this.

I agree that the talent differential between these top 3 receivers in the draft are not nearly as great as so many people make it out to be. If Williams is taken with the 1st pick, I'd be more than thrilled with either Udunze or Nabers being there for us at #9. However, I'm seeing a number of more recently updated mock drafts that have all three wideouts gone before our 9th pick is on the clock. These days the QB & WR positions tend to climb the boards as the draft draws closer, so it wouldn't shock me that within the first 8 picks all three of these receivers are gone.

the scenario is take williams, then technically trade down to the team that takes Harrison. It was showing that the Chargers were not completely screwed out of the Manning deal.

In that case, I wouldn’t mind it if we were going the Caleb Williams route. I think they would trade fields for extra players or picks though.

This writer of this article likes the combination of Williams at #1 and Latu at #9:

I've seen a number of mocks where if the Bears were to go DE/Edge with the 9th pick, Dallas Turner has been the most popular choice. But Latu has been gaining steam and his numbers back this up. If it wasn't for his injury history, which is now over two years old and seems to be in the rear view mirror, he would easily be the consensus top Edge in the draft. A number of sites already have him listed first. BTW, for those wanting to see Latu in game action, he's in the televised Senior Bowl this Saturday.

Arizona assuredly takes Harrison.....
Chargers-wr,Bowers or ot......
Giants wr or ot
Tennessee wr
With or without Fields assuredly wr.....

Ya,Ican see them all gone.

I think the only way ee get a top wr is trade down from 9.....no thanks.....thats where Im for ot or dlineman.......

As always, we need to see how Poles treats the free agent market, but you're right. If all three of these WRs are gone before we pick at #9, then yeah let's concentrate on the trenches and take the BPA at either side of the line.

Depends on the grade out. It might make sense to trade back from 9 and pick up more picks in rds later. I do like, so far, how Poles drafts.
