Great storyline in the Bucs vs Lions game.

Redemption of former #1 picks with Goff and Mayfield. Teams that drafted them move on from them and they meet today in the NFC Divisional round with the winner moving on to the NFC title game.

I think it's a reasonable take not to think Purdy is Montana 2.0 and to think he's an average QB propped up by his situation. I don't agree with it but I understand the take and the reasoning behind it.

What I find odd and interesting is the amount of goalposts moving and the standards put on Purdy to dismiss anything that he does.

Brock Purdy went 6-7 for 47 yards with two carries for 11 yards on the final drive so how are some people saying that's not a game-winning drive on his part? Did he need a 99-yard drive, all passing, with all his receivers being backup defensive linemen, and no completetions under 20 yards?

And one criticism of Purdy which I think was fair was people wanted to see him come from behind with some adversity in a meaningful game so wouldn't not playing your best game, not having Deebo a majority of it, and leading your team to a go-ahead game-winning TD count as that.

I also don't think one GW drive is enough to completely erase every Purdy doubt and make him suddenly a clutch all-time QB because it doesn't but weirdly people think all these other great QBs had perfect passer ratings, had terrible coaching, never threw to anyone talented, and never threw to open receivers but every throw was triple covered.
Watching Purdy last year I can understand people thinking flash in the pan but with a year of D-coordinators game planning for him he's now a top 10 QB. Let people dismiss him and be proven wrong. I would love to have Purdy on the Hawks and that was a great game winning drive when Niners needed it the most. Kid has the "it" factor that us fans of other teams want in our QB.

When people say top 10 QB you're saying he is worth $40+million a year.

More than any other player in sports, he needs to hold out for more money.

The other choice is he walks.

Always a fan of the underdog I spent most of the game rooting for the Packers. But late I really wanted to preserve the matchup everyone wants in Baltimore/SF. So I was glad Purdy rallied them, a Green Bay or Tampa Bay/Baltimore Super Bowl would make for a really crappy Super Sunday.

Going into the weekend I gave a slight edge to the Ravens as favorites to win it all based on their dismantling of SF just a few weeks ago. I believe that edge grew a bit wider as Lamar answered a few questions and Purdy has created some questions of his own.

Kept thinking to myself during the 1st half… imagine those teams playing at Candlestick in that rain on that shitty field…
True… or even at old Kezar Stadium back in the days before Candlestick.
Now I’m really aging myself…lol.
Funny thing though, visiting teams really hated playing there which usually gave SF a serious HF advantage.

Should be a great game Chiefs @ Bills.
Wondering if Allen and his buffaloes will finally make a solid run for the big prize. Whomever makes it past today will have their plate full against the Ravens.

They better pay him when he is due.

In 2025 or so I think.

Well I am good on the NFC side for the Superbowl now. (Now that the Packers are out)

Niners. I predicted them before the season & even stayed saying them during their 3 game losing streak.
If the Lions. Who isnt happy to see Dan Campbell in a Superbowl (except maybe their division rivals)
& if the crazy thing happens & somehow the Bucs make it. I am a Baker Mayfield fan so I can root for his cinderella season.

It's Detroit, I don't think the division rivals hold too much ill will towards them. That fanbase has suffered enough

2026.

Rookie contracts are already kinda messed up but CJ Stroud is making 10x what he is making.

Last pick of the draft vs the 2nd over all, so yeah there is a gap in pay. Why do you feel rookie contracts are messed up?

I have never seen Kezar Stadium, but I have read about it in old books.
