They could. But no one is going to claim him or trade for him with those numbers. Rangers would get him off the 40 man but still be on the hook for the salary.I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rangers don’t DFA him

Perhaps It would for this year but 2024 would only count if he wasn’t signed by anyone else. If I understand the rules rightThey could. But no one is going to claim him or trade for him with those numbers. Rangers would get him off the 40 man but still be on the hook for the salary.

No it is an optionNo one is DFAing Heaney
Possibly they aren’t going tobring anyone upRangers taking their sweet time with roster moves September 1
Right. Not a chance they eat that much money. I give it a 70% chance that he is in the rotation next year; 20% he opts out; 10 percent they use him in the pen. That is, if he makes his bonus, which seems extremely likely at this pointNo one is DFAing Heaney
And Grossman in is LF. And why Bochy doesn’t move Garcia out of the 4th place in the batting order is amazing. No one new in the lineup.
I think the group-think in MLB says:And Grossman in is LF. And why Bochy doesn’t move Garcia out of the 4th place in the batting order is amazing.
I noticed the other day he was hitting over 300. Bring Langford up. LOL!
This is the kid who was just drafted in July and is already in the big leagues.
Him and Taveras struggling should have caused them to bring up an outfielder instead of a a guy who is seen as a 4th-string catcher. Not sure I would start Jankowski another game all year
