Shoulder pads or helmet... doesn't matter. He still launched himself at the other players head which knocked him out of the game. The goal shouldn't be to kill someone just so you can win the game. It was a dirty, cheap shot and he should have been penalized.

I'm far from a stickler for the rules, but that was textbook targeting and should have been called.

Refs swallowed the whistle because they didn't want to reward Michigan with a shit awful play.

I keep hearing that too, but it would seem to be in both of their best interests to stay in CFB. The NFL coaching carousel would love to bring them in, but you get spit right back out if you don't produce in that first year or two.

Agree. Day is 45-6 and has not been beat by an inferior team to date.

Obviously recruits studs that can play at the next level. 4 seasons and all Top 10 teams. Very good coach.

We can't continue to split hairs on targeting like that. You launch yourself at the head of defenseless player and you're gone. If we don't fix this, pretty soon no one's gonna want to play for fear of having their career ended.

I would have pulled for Michigan. tOSU > B1G > all other conferences. I was hoping for an all B1G championship game. Maybe next year, but there's a more important game coming up at the end of November I have to start preparing for...
