Marte has been sent down. No word on the 40 man spot but I suspect Estrada is on the COVID IL, which creates, temporarily, a 40 man roster spot. DeSclafani, as you suggest, going to the 60 day IL will allow Estrada to be activated in a few days. I would guess Villar gets optioned when that happens.

I've noticed most guys going down from COVID activations are going through waivers now. Not sure if the rule has changed, rules were improperly applied before or are being improperly applied now.

This is the same org that optioned him to AAA so that the RiverCats could assume him to the development list, which meant a week in Arizona not playing real baseball.
I was OK with that, on the surface. He needed a breather and they are apparently tearing his mechanics down to the nuts and bolts. Best to do that in a “lab” environment, imho.
But placing him on the travel squad instead of either keeping him playing regularly at AAA or calling him up to the big league roster? That seems rather short sighted. Why not put Pereda on the travel squad (assuming they can still do that with guys outside the 40 man roster)? If Bart isn't ready for a return to the big club, leave him in AAA. If he is ready, don't just sit him in limbo.
I agree 100%. Putting him on the taxi squad looks to be the worst of all options. He needs to playing. He had his week off, now get to work, young buck! Either take ABs for Sacto or take ABs for SF. Following around like a puppy doing nothing but pissing on the carpet is pointless.

If he was DFA’d, and had not cleared yet, than he has to be placed on the 40. That isn’t an issue YET as Disco can just be placed on the 60.
