I am a bit surprised by this . . .

Not a big loss, but it is sad to see we got literally nothing for Dubon (though he will likely be DFA’d by Houston soon, it seems).

I just looked him up. Dubon looks like he has turned it around a bit for the ‘Stros…

I think the churn will have a lot of dead ends but I was expecting Dubon to get dfa'd when the trade occurred so it essentially worked out the way I expected on this one.
Glad to hear he is starting to do better.

Giants moves: Brandon Crawford goes on 10-day injured list with knee inflammation, Yermin Mercedes recalled from Triple-A Sacramento.

Jakob Junis threw a bullpen session yesterday, he’s getting closer to being an option. Could be some interesting rotation conversations coming up. Jose Alvarez started a rehab assignment last night. Luis Gonzalez will start baseball work by the end of the week.

Interesting that Alvarez needs a rehab assignment. Hasn't he been out of action for only a week or so?

I can't imagine Luciano will be in A+ ball too much longer

He is a stud. But his numbers in Eugene are not DEMANDING a promotion atm…

Good numbers, for sure, but he is still young enough to keep him back and work on his skills a bit longer.

A promo wouldn’t shock me, though, to be fair.

Looking at his game logs, it is pretty interesting that he does not appear to be a streaky player. His numbers seem pretty consistent throughout the season.

I suppose it isn't dominance, but a .867 OPS from a shortstop (that's 2-3 years younger than the average A+ player) is still very, very good.

I wasn’t intending to indicate anything short of that. He is considered to the be the future face of the organization. I kinda feel for the kid because he has unfair expectations attached to him. If he ends up being only an occasional allstar, he will be considered a bit of a disappointment. And that isn’t fair for anyone.

My point was simply that his numbers have not been meteoric, demanding the promotion (think Belt in ‘09 and ‘10). Letting him remain in A+ and experience some success while learning all the other aspects of adulthood and baseball is not necessarily a bad idea.

I didn’t notice that. He hasn’t played since 6/3.

I assume it is due to the same injury.
