Man, I hate to do this - but I totally agree with you! ;) Drew handled this better than I would have thought. The team told him he didn’t have to face the press, but he chose to do so. I respect that.

This!!!

I think Drew understands playing football and playing the QB there is a lot of adversity you have to fight through and I think he probably understands that his one last chance in Denver could and probably will come again in a blink of an eye.

Hey the real world is calling - This QB competition was not to see who would win, but if anyone would obviously lose it. I say that because they are two different QBs its impossible to compare their styles and say one is the winner. What happened was - nobody lost the QB battle - so they had to pick anyway.

Not yet. Like I said, no one is going to confuse Shurmur for Sean Payton, but he has all the weapons he needs to call a successful offense. It's up to him to maximize the talents he has. Last year was a struggle, but we did have 2 rookie receivers, our #1 WR out for most of the year, the starting QB missing a few games, and the first half of the season we were starting a traffic cone at RT.

Now that everyone is healthy and ready to play, there's no excuses. None for the players and none for the OC. It's put up or shut up time for the offense.
Don't forget a rookie center being pushed back into the QB's feet on every snap and even Risner taking a step back. Outside of Bolles the Oline was horrific. Then we had Von out for the season, and backups at corner. It was all just painful to watch. A healthy Von is worth at least two more wins this year.

So is a struttin’ Courtney Sutton.

I like Teddy, and he's had a hell of a camp/preseason. I liked him in Minnesota as well.

I think Denver is following the 2015 Blueprint, both Denver and Minnesota's. Teddy went 11-5 in 2015 on a defensive focused team, and we all know what Denver did.

That said, I still prefer Lock's upside. I mean he Matched a veteran starter throw for throw this offseason, and has less than 20 games under his belt. He still has the higher ceiling here. I do expect he'll start some games.

Then again, on the flip side, I love a Point guard QB. So many weapons, the QB just has to distribute correctly, and watch the fun.

PG is exactly what I was thinking about as the metaphor.

I guess I am in a extreme minority. I think Lock's career with the broncos is pretty much done. If the team is so bad they decide to move QBs midseason that will be the end of Fangio and the other coaches. A new coach is going to want to bring back Lock for a 4th year in hopes he magically bucks the trend and becomes good in year 4. He will want his QB.

Ignoring all that. A lot here aren't happy with Bridgewater as starter. Clearly coaches didn't think Lock was clear cut #1 QB which doesn't bode well for a QB going to his 3rd year in the league. How often does a starter lose the gig and return to play at a high level? Especially one that hadn't shown he was capable of playing at a high level consistently to begin with.

I am probably doom and gloom but I see 2 possibilities coming from this:
1) Bridgewater and the broncos play well enough to be a 10+ win team getting another chance to improve in 2022
2) Bridgewater and the team struggle and remain stuck under a mediocrity ceiling. After 2021, current coaches are gone, and a new coach brings in his own guys and potentially we are looking for another QB in the draft....again...making him the umpteenth starter since Manning.

I've mentioned this before, but the fact the Broncos are up for sale this year in particular - is a reason for the Broncos organization to put off the franchise QB question - and potentially the next HC question until the new owners are in place as those owners will then have the big investments to make about the direction of the team.

So the next best thing for the value of the Denver Broncos is to find a game manager QB - control the clock with the run game and short passing game and let the Defense win you a title, or take you to the playoffs.

I can see Lock coming back and becoming a winning QB. Probably not as a Denver Bronco. Part of his malfunction is his maturity. Right now his character is being tested and he has a chance to come out of it in a positive way - IMO.

What potentially leads to any dynamic playmaking with Bridgewater at QB - will be yards after catch. Jeudy - Sutton - Hamler - Fant will all have to break tackles and juke tackles for dynamic downfield plays. The Broncos have the personnel to do that - so it is a possibility. The Oline will have to win the LOS for this to succeed.

I don’t have the connections many do to the broncos. I have never been to Colorado and became a fan at the end of the Elway (player) era. I say this to help understand my next statement.

I am ready for a clean sheet with the broncos. I am ready for the ownership battle to be done with. I am ready to move on from the old ways and old personnel. I appreciate the positives that have come from Elway (GM) era but think we could use a fresh take on coaching and draft. Hopefully Paton can fill that role or maybe he gets wrapped up in changing of the guard.

I've been a Bronco fan since about 1975. I lived in Texas at the time. I was a little kid, so I followed the way little kids do. I didn't really know what was going on but I cheered them on. Then as an older kid back in Virginia I listened to them on the radio and I could visualize an entire game in my head - the sports announcers back then were pretty good at giving you the info. Eventually I moved to Colorado (Summer of 1983, lol) as a teen and learned more watching games with my dad. Now I live in Northern California after being stationed in San Diego (US NAVY) and I can follow them more closely than I have ever been able to before. I've seen stars come and go. I've seen entire regimes rise and fall. I'm ready for Paton to lead this franchise in the right direction. There are no sacred cows for me. Just get it done.

I don’t know where it was mentioned maybe Twitter but someone posted that with Teddy as QB we’re going to see what the season under Case Keenum would’ve been like if he had a better team around him and I think that fits perfectly.

I’d say really good since with a damn good Vikings team in 2017 he led them to a 12-3 record(he didn’t play game 1 that year). Keenum played very well that year and ended with a 98.3 QBR which would make Denver fans lose their mind if Teddy did that this year for us.

To be fair - Bridgewater is what Mike Shanahan wanted to turn Jake Plummer into (and came damned closed to doing it too).

Any relation to Courtland Sutton?
My dad’s name is Cortland (no U). Apple just tried to change that to Cartland. Cartland accurately describes the Broncos last year with all the injuries. We deserve better this year.

If they trade for Rogers next year I say yes.
