Honestly good luck to him.

This virus is no joke.

Imagine if Wentz contracts it? Having to be on a ventilator would certainly snap a few of his ribs. He'd be on IR for sure.

Easy people it's a joke. :behindsofa:

I knew it would be a Ram or a Charger. People aren't as vigilant and safe in that town and the upper management of the Rams have obviously failed at keeping their personnel safe from COVID-19

OX Sports' Jay Glazer reports Rams C Brian Allen is the first active NFL player to test positive for COVID-19.
Allen tested positive three weeks ago but is expecting the "all clear" later this week now that he is symptom-free. It was basically inevitable that an NFL player was going to test positive, and Allen could easily not be the last. Now that this news is public, it'll be interesting to see how the NFL responds. Thus far, the league has stayed on course with most of their current plans. The free agency period started on time, the NFL Draft is set for next week, and the regular season hasn't been rescheduled at all
not sure why they waited so long:suds:

From what I read, this was some time ago, he's already recovered or near recovered now.

Which is good to hear and is true in the majority of cases. In my province, for example, about 2/3 of the cases have recovered so far. However, people could very likely still be contagious because the virus doesn't dissipate the same as previous ones. It has properties that are unprecedented in these things. Even if the people who get it recover, we can not assume it's over. There will likely be a second and possibly even third wave of this thing that could conceivably be worse because people let their guard down and quit taking precautions. Anybody thinking this will all be over soon is very naive. We could possibly still be dealing with isolation protocols and distancing a year from now.

This news was presented in a very odd manner.

None the less glad that it seems like he is making a full recovery

My best buddy is a recently retired respiratory therapist, he won't let anyone he knows be naive.

When the government interaction is long over no one really knows what the new norm will be yet.

We will never be the same, we will have to find a new normal

Best part of this is getting to see Dr Bonnie on TV every day.

Calm, cool and collected. Well spoken. Answers even repetitive silly questions politely.

We are lucky to have her.

In some ways I know I won't be the same.

In time, especially if there's a vaccine, I think we'll be somewhat the same. My grandmother was born in 1900 and was a late teen when the Spanish flu broke out...we talked about a lot of things, but I never had the foresight to ask her about that before she died. I would have to think things went back to normal.

It wouldn't shock me to see people wearing masks at large gatherings...I think that could become more of a norm. If somebody is sick...they will take it a lot more serious from the onset. I think some jobs will mandate that you stay home until a Dr has cleared you.

The world is a much more populated, more connected place with technological advancements probably not even imagined 102 yrs ago. Hopefully they will see a vaccine through this time.

Can't see myself at a gathering like a sports event or concert for a long time.

Restaurants at half capacity for a while. But I'd never sit at a table near strangers. People I know, possibly.

And if there ever is a vaccine, I'll probably get this shot.

If the new normal involves social distancing then say adios to restaurants, professional stadium sports, Disney World, rock concerts. The list goes on.

Nope, once there is a cure and a vaccine, things will calm. Nobody will ever trust anything China says anymore though.

Not everyone has to be hooked to a ventilator that gets it.

on Miller is recovering from a case of COVID-19.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Miller is "at home resting and in good spirits." Rapsheet reports Miller will speak publicly on Friday. It is unknown if Miller has been around other Broncos players or officials. Rams C Brian Allen was announced as the league's first confirmed case of COVID-19 on Wednesday, but the reality is there are probably several dozen players infected. Elite athletes, NFL players are in the demographic that should mostly be untroubled by the coronavirus, but as we have learned, the disease can be arbitrary and capricious. Hopefully the cases remain low and there are swift recoveries for all.
