For the 9ers not Seattle.

Seattle couldn't have gotten the bye even with a win so a loss isn't really the end of the world for them.

In my opinion having to play the Vikings than having to play the Saints coming off the bye would've been a tougher road than having to play the Eagles than having to likely go to SF or possibly GB.

New Orleans is a tougher place to play than Santa Clara and I'd rather play a divisional opponent coming off a bye than a non divisional one because you're so familiar with a divisional opponent it tends to diminish the extra prep time they get.

With the roster the way it is right now I don't think they can make a run but their best odds of making a run is from the 5th spot.

Fair enough.

Also, I was pretty pissed off late in the first half when they went for it on 4th down. Take the fucking points. If that game is under 3pts late it's a FG and they walk off winners. You cannot pass up points in the first half even if they are already 2+ scores ahead. You just don't do it.

I thought they should've taken the points the way the game was going but it blows my mind when you have inches that teams just don't run a QB sneak to get it.

Good points. Seahawks ain't intimidated at all playing in Santa Clara.

Not behind a backup center (remember Britt has been out for a while) and when your QB has no real mass to use for the push.

I'm a big fan of the sneak when it makes sense. I don't see it as a viable play on something as big as 4th and 1 as they were on that field tonight.

The FG was the right play.

What's with the Seahawks and the 1 yard line struggles? Both NFC teams get a full week off since AFC teams play Saturday.
The Hawks wouldn't have had a bye week, even if they would have won tonight. Now the Hawks have to go to Philly, which IMO isn't all that bad.

Yeah, QB sneak was the way to go. They should've just rushed up to the line and done it right away.

Again, they have not ran off/behind center well at all since losing Britt. I have zero faith in the push up the middle and neither does the team. Also, a bigger/heavier QB would help.

Agreed on taking the FG but if you're going to take a chance I still would've rolled the dice on a QB sneak. If the center can't block for a QB sneak it's not going to be an easier for him to block for the RB.

They never run sneaks with Wilson. I think that may be the one time where his size plays a factor and I don't think they trust the middle of the line to get enough push.

True, but at least the Niners won't get some stupid, ticky-tack unsportsmanlike conduct penalty because he can't hear the whistle.

No one's beating the 49ers at home in the playoffs, just ain't happening.

49ers already beat the fraud Packers' brains in and the Saints D can not stop the 49ers offense at all nor do they play well on road grass against good competition.

Easy cakewalk to the Superbowl for the 49ers.

I wish that was the case but it's going to be tough.

The bye helps their odds because having a bye week 4 this season hurt them down the stretch so overall the team badly needed a rest and it should allow guys banged up to get healthy and be ready to play.

But they've lost 5 DL for the season so far and that's really hampered their front because they just can't rotate guys like they were able to early on the season.

They should have Dee Ford which will help and it sounds like their is some outside chance Kwon Alexander can return at some point so that should bolster their defense if both of those things happen.

Still the bye was huge for their chances and being home the entire time does also helps. I mean I don't think they get a huge boost themselves playing at home but they at least take away the boost other teams would get playing in their stadiums.

They also need a break mentally after all these close games in a row.

I hate the pi replay rule. I don’t want it but they have it. If you don’t review that what’s the point
Every incomplete pass should be reviewed then?

Right? That play was a huge reason Seattle had a chance at the end

Holding by the offensive line often goes uncalled, too. Imagine if the NFL reviewed all of those, too. A game would take 6 hours. LOL.

No crap. Hell, why not review that 2 point attempt earlier. That was as close as it gets and they ignored it.
