Rob Kelley has run the ball 11 times for 23 yards this preseason. His yards-per-carry as the #Redskins starter last season exceeded 3.3 just one time.

Very revealing stat here. This says alot about the topic at hand. We need improvement in the RG game on 1st downs. Give me somebody.

Gruden said they’re not looking for a starter at RB. But he is bring some RB's in for depth, not to push Rob Kelley for the starting role.

That's so dumb you bring players to make you better you bring players for depth and hope they challenge your starters then you have good depth wtf is gruden freaking smoking

Gruden's obsession with Fat Rob has exceeded Gibbs obsession with Brunell. If Jay wants to continue to play favorites and continue to give the starters a series while Dak and Brady are playing well into the 2nd Q......he better know what he's doing.

That seat he's on is warm and will be even warmer if by mid November he looks up and Fed Ex is half empty and the construction crew in making preparations to rip out another 8,000 seats in the upper bowl.

Now you are talking cap issues. If you bring in somebody good enough to push your first rounder, then you are shelling out bucks. Then you can’t resign your draft picks because you wasted it in FA.

sometimes i wish he would understand the cap better . a lot of choices are made because of it . hence valuing draft picks , developing our own guys and keep young is a lot better then going after name free agents who rarely work out

Huh? You just mentioned two #1 picks & a 2nd rd pick who was viewed as a 1st rounder by some. Where are you going to find all of these guys to push them? Again UDFAs are that way for a reason. You may find a diamond in the rough, but the odds are long. Veteran FAs are going to cost a lot of $$ or are available because they are too old, injured or have other issues.

Your theory may sound good on the surface, but in reality it is flawed. Also - most teams won't survive multiple injuries at one position - not in the salary cap era. You can only have so much depth.

Let's just wait & see how this plays out before coming up w/ all of these off-the-wall strategies or crucifying Gruden.
