So Porter Gustin is having knee surgery today and should be out minimum three weeks. Will miss opener but might be back for Stanford and or Texas.
Best case for fking up a knee.
I mean if USC is going to rush him back into service before he should why not just let him play the opener?

Please find a report that Alabama was still actively recruiting him
Who said anything about Bama? The kid told the UW coaching staff that he was having family problems and that he wanted to play closer to home. This is after he signed an LOI with Washington.

Tell me which is closer to Nevada ... Seattle or Alabama.

You can't fool me. On that map, Hawaii is closer to Alabama than Reno is.

Why would you say that? Thats what the timetable is for that injury . Roughly three weeks .Why would you rush him back for UNLV? I bet he misses the Stanford game too.

Its easy to feel like you"ve been chumped when this type of back channel sleaze goes down by the cronic player buying programs and there is nothing but taking the higher classy road, but still wouldn't trade Petersen and the staff for any other in the NCAA.

He's exactly what we want in a head coach for this program.

Bama can keep Saban and especially Tosh. Petersen told that doush to pack his bags, cups, and take a hike as soon as he arrived on campus to clean up Drunk Sarks legacy of mediocrity and junior high crap.
We good. Go Dawgs!!!!

It's a pretty good bet he isn't enrolling in the medical school, so such a ranking has no bearing on my question. In fact, these rankings are completely irrelevant to a kid who was academically ineligible. What is far more important is the minimum requirements for athletic eligibility as an incoming freshman.

According to what I read, the recovery for this is 2-5 weeks. So, as early as August 23rd, which is 1 week before the opener vs. UNLV or as late as Sept. 13th, which would bring him back in time for Texas.

As @socaljim242 pointed out, they aren't going to be worried about having him for the UNLV game. Even if he's 100% cleared by doctors, USC would likely limit his plays.

So, I don't really see how targeting the Stanford game, which would be 4 weeks into his recovery, would be considered "rushing him back".

Yeah, not sure where he was going other than trying (and failing) to say USC is unnecessarily rushing him back.
I have flight hotel and tickets for seven of us for the Texas game which is more than a month from now so he should be back for that game.

Round trip Flight-$285.
Hotel- $190 a night
Game Tickets- $185 and $25 service charge
going to a USC Texas game in Austin- Priceless
