This. Is. Not. A. Title. IX. Issue.
It absolutely is. That is exactly why Meyer released the statement he did. He has a title ix clause in his contract that states he must report any type of physical, sexual, verbal assault to the university for any player, coach or member of his staff.

What if the AD talked to the police and they told him she was bat-sh*t crazy and they didn't believe she was being abused?

Was there a history of abuse by Zack Smith?

I have a hard time taking a local PD serious when there is a high caliber football team at play. I'd assume 95% of the Columbus PD are Ohio St and Urbs fans.

It's really time for the NCAA to close down this program for 2 years and let them start over

The texts are pretty damning tbh. I have very little doubt that he physically abused her on more than one occasion.
Im just curious, if she really called the police so many times why was he never arrested? If he abused why did she not show those bruises to the police? They pull the trigger pretty quick if there is any marks on the woman.

I would agree with this. Now there are 2 PD involved one for FL and other OH.

That I can't answer but his own responses in said texts speak volumes imo.

Yup. He doesn't deny chocking her. Just says "yeah, sorry 'bout that"

It wasn't the Columbus PD, and they have not been all that kind to OSU in any event - they charged the starting QB with DUI in 2015.

FWIW, a tweet of Urban's letter got a like - from Courtney Smith's mother. Wonder what her mother knows that we don't?

They show someone very angry for sure. But did he abuse her is the big question. I am still on the fence, not convinced either way.

I have experience in these types of matters.

When I was in the military back in the 80's I supervised about 6 people. If any of them would get arrested by the local PD they would call me and I'd go pick them up with the understanding I'd handle any discipline, therefore they wouldn't get charged.

Reckless driving, DUI, disturbing the peace, etc. No charges. Turned over to me.

So a contract he signed in 2018 could lead to his being fired for something that happened in 2015? I'm no lawyer, but OSU better be prepared to pay out his entire contract if that happens.

Not only that, but it's pretty obvious that Meyer knew about 2015, the AD (his boss knew) about 2015, the police knew about 2015, and no charges were filed. How exactly does that violate his contract (the old or the new)?

His big sin was shooting his big fat mouth off at B1G media day. If he should be fired for that, so be it, but it won't be because he violated a clause in his contract that wasn't even there when the event happened.

He definitely didn't deny picking her up by her throat on multiple occasions when she brought it up to him, basically just said "yeah sorry".

did something else happen today I'm not aware of.. cause 78 Pages and still going:eek:

Urbs released a tweet admitting he lied to the media, but didn't take responsibility for keeping a known wife beater on staff. Actually blamed his superiors as he'd "reported" it to them.

I was in the Navy in the early 90's and it was the same way.

He did admit it in text but did Meyer have access to those text? If they police are not arresting and the accused is denying to Meyer the guy is not a known wife beater IMO.
