Pretty fucked up that Zach Smith's parents knew, her parents knew, SO many people allegedly knew and did nothing. But since Urban Meyer is the head coach and has it specifically written in his contract to report these things, he is taking the fall for it.

While I believe that Meyer would have to know prior to July, so did the other coaches through the alleged text messages to their wives. Therefore, all of them would be subject to the mandatory reporting called for under Title IX and OSU's wording, which puts all their jobs on the line, including Meyer's wife since she is a part of the university.

With today's climate, I don't see Meyer retaining his position with a buyout/resignation seeming likely based on the reporting as it stands today.

That's the nature of the beast.

I'm not sure of the employment of the aforementioned parties. But pretty sure their employment isn't bound to any title IX stipulations.

Well, he's won 3 natties as a coach and has won natties at multiple programs and lead Utah to an undefeated season when they were a mid major. He's a great coach, and other than Nick Saban, he's the best in the game.
I cant argue with your points. I stated some people might or could, or even would. We all differ in points of view, you should know this because you frequent the PF. To me, he is a great coach, doesnt mean someone who dislikes or even hates him wouldnt disagree.

Well, and he lied about it. Really badly lied about it. I think this situation is entirely different if last week Urban fires Smith and stands up at that podium and says, "Look, I made a mistake and put too much trust in Mr. Smith that he would fix this situation without getting to this point. I knew it was happening over the past few years and we've been monitoring it. Unfortunately it has come to a point where he can no longer be associated with our program", Urban would be totally fine today.

This is the only fair way Urban could lose his job. If they can prove he orchestrated an effort to prevent her from going through with filing charges, he needs to be fired on the spot.

Not so. Title IX requires Urbs or his wife to report it. Proof or no proof. Just knowledge of potential abuse.

They both failed to do so.

It wasn't put into his contract until April of this year. However, Title IX has always had the requirement that he report any knowledge of potential abuse.

Did Tom Herman know since he was the Buckeyes OC before he took the Houston job?

It makes zero sense, trying to take down a coach and program, with actually no real proof.

McMurphy says, “I do not have any direct evidence that any text messages from Urban Meyer that says he knew about the abuse allegations.”

Ohio St is taking precautions, but if it ends in his firing it is complete bullshit. I cant believe this woman is trying to pin abuse on a coach when she wouldnt even tell her family. Like go to the police immediately especially after she gave Zach a second chance back in 2009. She should be blaming herself more than anythinf for not telling her family or authorities sooner.

Everyone knew. Even Urban’s half cousin that moved to Europe 3 years ago. He needs to be fired immediately from his job

The admin leave is likely the university and Urbs lawyers working out a separation deal.
Since it wasn't stipulated in his contract until this year the issue is whether his release is 'with cause'. I.E. They don't have to pay him.
The incident Urbs and his wife failed to report was 2015. His contract didn't contain the reporting requirement back then, so it falls to Title IX requirements.
He makes appx $7 million/yr through 2022, so 50% of $35 million will probably be the settlement if there is one.

Permanent separation of Ohio State/Meyer is a legal maneuver making the University less culpable.
