So Sherlock, what was he supposed to do? Drive to their house and blow Smith's head off with a shotgun? The police were involved so there was no cover-up. She elected not to press charges. Stop being such an idiot like you always are.
Urban had more information than the police did, so there was (in fact) a coverup. He was contractually obligated to report that information to superiors. Period.

Um......maybe fire him?
And that would've solved everything? There were no charges so he wasn't fired. This year there were charges and now he was fired.

Nothing Urban could've done would've made anything better or changed anything. These are two adults living their own lives. The police we involved, she made her decision not to press charges, so Smith kept his job. Had he had charges brought against him, he would've been canned.

More information? You've been spouting BS all day but this is a new one. Who's your source that told you Urban knew more than the police who were called BY HER and given information BY HER?

But, it is easy for us to sit here on the sidelines and say what he should have done. It is just a different world now.
It's actually very easy for those (such as yourself) who are in positions that require yearly training . . on what to do in cases exactly like this. I would be willing to bet that as a coach at a public university, Meyer is required to take this sort of training on a yearly basis as well.

So yeah - I agree. It is easy to say what he should have done.

You can argue all you want, but you might wanna temper things a little bit. And I'm not even saying you're wrong.

But, everything I'm reading is saying that Urban Meyer will coach no more.

You're setting yourself up here.

It really doesn't matter. He was contractually obligated to tell his superiors, police or not. Period. He violated his contract. Period. He then proceeded to blatantly lie to everyone about it.

OSU can fire him for cause at this moment, no other information needed.

So you don't think there were people that influenced her not to file charges? And Meyer can't fix everything under the sun in terms of their marriage. But as the head coach of the program, he could've fired him so that the university isn't involved.

Instead, since Meyer's wife was/is (not sure on if current) an employee of the university and knew of domestic abuse involving an employee of the university. Ohio State could now be subject to a title IX investigation.

I mean, you could believe what you want. This story appears to be gaining some traction and Meyer just got put on admin leave. So............wah.

He, and every other college coach, is damn sure aware of the current environment regarding these type issues.

Wow. This guy is either dumber than a rock, won't take wise counsel or has real big problems. Or, all of the above. He's had to know he was under a microscope since at least '09!
It would appear that he was not under any sort of scrutiny. After all, the first Urban heard of it was last week, right?

I've already gotten myself mentally prepared for it to happen if it does. It's Ohio State, we'll get another big-time coach. However, it doesn't mean I would agree with it, nor would I ever agree with it, if it happens.

You truely are in a fucking dream world. A bucknut one.

Weren’t you one of the ones condemning Paterno for telling no one? An suddenly what changed in your point of view? Because in principle this is the exact same fucking thing.

Again - THE POLICE KNEW. If something is reported to the police, it is impossible to cover it up. You genuinely have no logic behind your allegations of a cover-up.

"... added to his contract that was signed in April...." Why in the hell wasn't that in there in the first place. Hell, that's on every educator's contract in Texas.

Wow you’re a fucking idiot if you compare this to Joe Pa lolzzz. The only reason the University is suspending him is in case the worst happens. The only h has done is supposedly lied. How is a coach supposed to fire a coach when he has no proof at the time, when he did have more proof what did he do? Fire him. What a joke

Her parents, evidently.

With no proof of abuse and her electing not to file charges or anything, proving a Title IX violation is going to be pretty damned difficult.
