Give Giles and Bagley a few years together.

They might be a great tandem.

Giles looking good tonight.
Fox, Giles, and Bagley all looked good. Even if it's summer league it's better than them looking like crap.

Same with Wagner, Mykhailiuk and Hart. Well Hart sort of, as he had some bad turnovers early then argued with the refs too much and got tossed lol. They all put up solid points.

He was awful

I've said from the beginning that Trae should've stayed in school. Didn't see the hype with him. I know it's his first couple of summer league games, but I'm just not convinced he'll amount to anything.

Well Marco Bellineli looked like a god in Summer League. Same with Anthony Randolph. Then the Warriors had this dude on their summer league team for a few years and he didn’t really do anything impressive and barely made an imprint. That guy was Joe Ingles.

I do agree with you though Trae looks underwhelming to me too. He needs some major help in his game development. Also needs to hit the weight room ASAP.

At least Trae Young is good at hitting pre-game half court shots.

His weird ass wispy hair is weird though.

The thing with Summer League that I tell people and I keep repeating it every year as its somehow getting more popular so more new eyeballs are on it is that it means almost next to nothing. You aren't going to get any real insight to how good your new draft pick is. Like some of the example you used, there's guys that excel in SL that don't do jack shit in the NBA and vice versa. Really there's only two things you can get from it:

1) If your 2nd year players aren't dominating, then there's a very good chance they won't be stars going forward. They're just going to be marginal role players. Now there's still some guys that will dominate and won't be stars, but I'm just saying they have little shot at ever being on that path if they can't come back and dominate after having a year's experience in the NBA.

2) If your draft pick struggles the majority of SL, you might have a problem. I don't know mean a cold shooting night here or there. I mean this dude looks lost or you forget he's out there for basically all of the games.

But that's basically it. Your guy dropping 29 and 15 doesn't mean he's going to be stud or your guy going 1 for 16 doesn't mean he's a bust. Your team winning SL doesn't mean you have a good crop of young talent either. Summer League is like its own weird little island. Just enjoy it for what it is

Marcus Derrickson just dropped 24 points on 8/19 shooting, 4/7 from 3, 11 rebounds, 4 steals and 1 block in just 25 minutes for the Warriors today. He looks like he has a great shooting stroke too. He's only 6'7" but he might be able to be a small ball 4. Just read he shot over 46.5% from 3 last year for the Hoyas. I'm officially intrigued. Will need to see more of him but if he continues like this he may just get an opportunity somewhere.

Bagley with a brutal first half.

0 points on 0 FG attempts.

He has not been able to create any space for himself. He may be slower to develop than most people think.

Giles and Jackson look pretty solid though.
