A lot of the recent greats were assholes. It's not that uncommon.

MJ
Kobe
James

Magic and Bird were rarities.

I got news for you. Bird was an asshole too.

Yes he was. And a great shit-talker. But just like all the greats he had the game to act anyway he wanted.

A classic reminder that opportunities have to be seized when they're available. I was born around the time the last Dolphins went to a Super Bowl with Marino. But when they lost, many didn't take it as a bad thing because they figured they'd be back with an elite QB whom was only in his 2nd year. The Phins never went back to a Super Bowl. Same situation applies to OKC. Boston should learn from history and not assume anything.

all ribbing WiggityWack aside, the ultimate goal IS to get a title, right...?

Sure bur straight Finals is unreal. Never thought I'd see a team do that again. Despite the Conference we play in. So many players have made 1 or 2 and never made it again or won a title.

I think it's because he's LeBron to be honest.

One of the most impressive things about LeBron is his pure toughness and longevity.

NO PLAYER has been as consistently great for as long as LeBron. He has been the best player in the league for 11 years now.

Its hard to be the best player in the league for a 3-4 year span.....you shouldnt be able to do it for 10+ plus years. It should not be possible....injuries....long playoff runs.....just bad luck.....in a 10+ year span those things are supposed to effect a player.

MJ even retired, got injured here or there.

LeBron has been doing it at a level that no one else can for longer than anyone while sharing the league with some GREAT GREAT players.

Its why when he retires itll be him The King and His Airness 1a and 1b. No one will be able to make a DEFINITIVE argument for either. MJ will have the mystique of 6-0 and aura of invincibility- LeBron will have pure longevity and dominance.

I remember watching him as a 17 year old kid for SVSM against Western Reserve.

The impact that he has had on the league is undeniable....however, the impact that he has had on the NE Ohio region is probably even more profound.

You will not find a player in the NBA that does more for charity than LeBron James

You will not find a player in the NBA that his teammates love playing with more than LeBron James.

You will not find a harder worker in the NBA and someone that puts the time in to make sure he is ready to play than LeBron James.

When you add this type of work ethic to this type of talent- you get what you see- prob. 1a or 1b as the greatest of all time

I read it and hate when we agree on something.

He'll add an MVP for sure now.

He won't though.

Because every year the voting is conducted in April. There is always somebody like Harden or Russ who posts huge regular season numbers who the media deem more worthy. Then as the calendar rolls toward June we are reminded how galactically stupid it is to think anyone but LeBron is MVP.

Yet, the same mistake gets repeated every single year. You would think voters would learn eventually.

I think talking shit is different than being an outright asshole like MJ. The HOF speech cemented his asshole-ness.

Lebron circle jerk going on here. Im staying out.

Will return once your hero FALLS on the biggest stage again. Its always the circle jerk when he beats lousy East Teams he's SUPPOSED ROFLMAO. This one missing its two best players. Like its a defining career achievement to do such

We all know why Lebron refuses to go out West

Care to bet some of that Hoop cash he goes West this summer?

Reggie Miller talked a lot of shit also but I don't consider him in the MJ asshole discussion.

I thought about getting some bottle rockets & a bull horn to harass some of the people that entered the Boulder Bolder (10k race) today. But I didn't want to get in trouble.

Really? I don't remember him being as bad as MJ, I forget shit.

Different from MJ.

Defintely better to his teammates and family. Probably worse to everybody else.

His reaction when he was coaching the Pacers and Reggie Miller hit that game winning buzzer beater pretty much sums up Larry Bird. His expression never changed while utter pandemonium erupted all around him. Dude was an ice cold SOB. And that is why he was so great.
