Amazing how Houston was able to withstand the initial blow in the 1st AND in the late 3rd early 4th. KD (Skip says the best player in the world) was nowhere in sight. He was M.I.A.

Who didnt think it was over during that 3rd qtr blitz?

For the 1st time, I feel Warriors could lose this.

Sure, but that was being out of rhythm. Look how good Houston had to play and how shitty the Ws did. And they still barely lost. I think Ws in 6 is definitely in play. And it might be 2 more close games too.
you think Houstson played that great?

they shot 31% from 3 and 39% from the field....i gotta say- id never suspect theyd win a game shooting like that. That really surprises the hell out of me. I thought if they were gonna win a couple games it would be because they went nuts from 3.

Momentum is an underrated thing.
Once you lose it , its hard to get it back.

Houston played good? What game were you watching? They actually played like shit. The only guy who played really well was CP3. Harden disappeared and was nowhere to be found in the 2nd half.

"Look how good Houston had to play"

Houston shot 39% from the field and scored 95 points. They had a horrific game on the offensive side of the ball,

Neither team played good. The difference in the game was the 1st and 4th quarter. Warriors should have had a bigger 1st quarter lead after jumping out to a 12-0 start.

Rockets were +16 in the 2nd. Warriors were +17 in the 3rd.

I can't see how anyone who watched this game can come away with the impression that Houston played great while the Warriors played poorly.

Extremely lame excuse

totally agree.....i dont care who they are playing- you tell me Houston is held to 95 points and 39% shooting from the field and if they are playing the Kings or Lakers or Magic i think its a loss.

Same. I don't even think the defense was that great. It was obviously better than game 3 and they had moments where it was pretty good but a lot of it was the Warriors going ISO far too often.

Well you were wrong. They won because they went nuts on defense. No one ever gave them credit for it, because of D'antoni, but they were a very good defensive team all year. Adding Chris Paul and Tucker will do that, as well as never playing Anderson.

Everyone talks about how important defense is until it actually shows up and then it's 'look how shitty that game was' SMH

Can't think of a reason why 2 offensive dynamos couldn't score last night. It's a total mystery.

yah there defense was good- at hte same time when you only basically play 6 guys dont you get tired?

i could not believe dantoni went with basically a six man rotation. pretty nuts.

The Dubs missed Iggy way more than they'll admit tonight not just because of what Iggy gives them, but because they got tired. Their bench gave them nothing tonight. Any time they were in, Houston would close in and Kerr had to put the starters back in. Livingston looks washed, Cook gave them good minutes this season but is too inexperienced for these situations, Nick Young is and always has been fool's gold trash, most of their bigs are unplayable against Houston. So the Dubs starters played most of the game, got winded, and let that fatigue creep into their games mentally in the 4th where they abandoned cuts and ball movement (stuff that takes energy) and settled for a lot of tough isos. Houston only played 7 guys as well but they were better suited to handle it tonight. The Warriors weren't.
i agree--- i stupidly down played Iggy's impact on the game earlier that day but after looking at the guys the Warriors played beside their big 4--- I am totally changing my tune on Iggy- they NEED him.

Kevin Looney, Quin Cook, Nick Young, Jordan Bell, Shaun Livingston are the guys that got minutes besides the Warriors Big 4. Thats a summer league roster. A bad summer league roster. Livingston is the only guy id actually even remotely want and trust in a big playoff game.

doesn't matter if you lose by 1 or 41, they all count the same.

I always said in the playoffs, I would rather get blown out unless it is an elimination game. Do you know how frustrating it must be to play great and still lose? Much better to play like crap knowing you brought your F game to the table that night because there are several adjustments to make

Not sure we can say the Warriors played great though. Yes the Houston D was a big factor, but as a couple pointed out above, the Warriors were missing Iggy and made some bad choices too. That was hardly either team's A game on offense.

Yeah I thought they were done after the traditional Warriors 3rd quarter blitz.

Game 5 will be interesting though. A Rockets win and for the first time since KD came to Golden State, there will be a shit load of pressure in game 6 & game 7 on the Dubs

This is already the first playoff series the Ws lost 2 games in since Durant got there. Which figures as this is the best team they've played in these 2 years in the playoffs.
