Zero chance of that.

At all.

Not if every game was a double digit win.

Very very impossible.

Couldn't happen.

The only two team with teeth on their schedule would have losses to them and would suffer in the polls. They would have no chance of having more than 3 ranked teams at all, and none would be top 10. NONE.

schedule is a joke and they can't lose a game but the committee will not keep an undefeated P5 conference champion out of the playoff.

If FSU can make it in 2014, any P5 team that goes undefeated will be in the playoff.

He said Oregon would not be a top 10 team if they went undefeated. And while I certainly don't think they'll be undefeated, IF they do win every game, then they will be punching their ticket to the playoffs.

Let's not forget the Pac went like 1-8 or whatever in bowl season last year and might not have more than 4 ranked teams going into the year.

Preseason standings do matter and always have. Perception is an ally. The ducks aren't considered to be much and neither is the difficulty of the Pac right now.

The only reason UW will still have a chance at making a playoff berth even with a loss is that game against Auburn to open the season. And even then they would only still make it if we didn't have more than one undefeated team probably.

It's not going to be an easy ride for any Pac team until the collective conference as a whole pulls its head out of their asses and starts playing big boy football again.

I mean have any of you actually looked at that schedule?

2018 Oregon Ducks Football Schedule

Like REALLY looked at it?

I agree that it's not good but you do have three teams that finished ranked last year. Some Power 5 teams don't play three ranked teams all season long. Plus they would still have to beat Washington and Stanford and the Pac 12 South champion. An undefeated season would place them into the playoffs.

If either Stanford or UW was otherwise undefeated they would have a chance at top 10 at season end. as well as a 1 loss or undefeated south champ.

It would be almost impossible for any other team to have that many awful teams on it. Oregon State is the only team ranked 100 or worse from a P5 conference so in order for it to happen it have to be an SEC or ACC team that loaded up on 4 sun belt, mac or cusa teams. Can't think of any off the top of my head.
Shit! I may have to change my favorites! Where are Kansas and Illinois?

I agree however the schedule FSU played 4 years ago was not creampuff.

11 P5 teams + ND, 9 bowl teams

And there isn't one Oregon fan that backed us when ours was full of turds after Wisky pulled out so why on earth are you willing to give them a free pass? It's the fucking ducks. Another example of why I don't believe you are a real and true dawg.

Fuck the ducks and their lame ass schedule.

7-6 Ok St
7-5 Florida
8-5 Notre Dame
And the Citadel. Wasn’t like there was a good team in their either.

Florida State's regular season schedule in 2014 might actually be worse than Oregon's this season. It was awful. Only played two ranked teams in #15 Clemson and #24 Louisville, only had four road games, etc.

And it wasn't just the schedule, it was the way they were winning. So ugly. That's the reason the committee seeded them behind Alabama and Oregon in the playoffs even though those two teams each had losses.

No offense, but if both Stanford and UW lose to Oregon they aren't nearly what their preseason ranking would suggest they are and I'd expect both to fall (and lose at least one more game).

Either way, the south is almost an embarrassing joke. There's USC, maybe kind of sort of Utah, and? :noidea: That's a division in pure early rebuilding mode. UCLA, ASU, and UA are all with new staffs and none were killing it before the changeover. Only the cats have a QB worth raising an eyebrow over at this point. Colorado? Please.

You have to face reality and the Pac right now is trying to climb out of a hole. As a collective they should finish better than last year, but do you see real substantial gains with all of that uncertainty up and down? I don't. And that will matter in the final rankings for every team within it. That's why having at least one quality win outside of the conf is a pure must right now.

UW could actually lose to Auburn and still find a way to the playoffs, but an outside chance with a lot of help needed. Outside of that, a win against Auburn and a loss anywhere else would probably still ensure their ticket. That game is really the only thing their season will be built off of because of how bad the perception is of the rest of the conf right now.

That's just reality.
