FanRag Sports' Jon Ledyard reports that the Washington Redskins and Pittsburgh Steelers will both have sit-down dinners with LSU RB Derrius Guice in advance of his pro day on April 4.

Per Ledyard, the Steelers already had a formal combine interview with Guice. They'll be digging in further on the 5-foot-10, 224-pounder in a few days. Pittsburgh GM Kevin Colbert and HC Mike Tomlin will both be on hand for dinner with the LSU back. In terms of his Redskins dinner, he'll be wining and dining with team president Bruce Allen. The Buccaneers and Ravens have also shown interest in Guice during the evaluating process. While we don't view him as a top-10 pick, he's in play to potentially come off the board within the first 15 selections. In his most recent mock draft, for instance, Rotoworld's Josh Norris pegs Guice to those aforementioned Redskins at No. 13. You can consider that around his likely draft ceiling. We also would not be stunned if he clicked in closer to the end of Day 1.

If we pick Guice at 13, that will be a huge reach.

To be honest I know nothing about the player. I have to research. Is he a three down back? Can he catch? I know he is a bigger back that has decent speed that breaks tackles. That is all I know. If someone like FitzPatrick or James is there and we pass on them I will blow a gasket. Vea or payne I would be angry unless we sign Hankins

He is 225 pounds and run a 4.49. That is impressive. Some other new about him:

The fit makes a ton of sense. Alex Collins outperformed expectations in 2017, but it is clear the Ravens are heading into the draft wanting to upgrade at running back. Guice is a top 10 talent in the eyes of Josh Norris and runs with power. He's been showcasing his pass catching ability during the draft process. He is in play for the No. 16 pick.

If he is in play at #16 then I guess #13 is not a big reach.

He's not really a big back. He's big enough but that was a minor concern for him going into the combine. He does run extremely physically though. I think he's a really good prospect and could be a 3 down back but I don't think he's worth a 1st round pick.

He's 212 pounds. Not a big back. 13 is a reach for him.

you are right 212. I think he is a mid to late first rounder. Depends who is on the board at that time. What if Vea, Payne, Fitz, and James are all gone?

If they are all gone it means either Ridley or one of the QBs is still on the board.

QB SHOULD be off the table at 13, but with Bruce you never know.

Ridley is my guess any way you slice it if he is there at 13.

Guice would be a slight reach, but Not to the level of taking a guy in the 1st that should be there in the 2nd or 3rd.

Guice would be a good pick at 13.... of course he would be a better pick at 18 or the 2nd round, but there is literally no way he is available in the 2nd when the skins pick

Cmon now. You are getting crazy. QB? It would be funny if Rosen was still there at #13. I don't see Ridley going before #13. He will be there. Im still researching Guice

Who pissed in your cornflakes?

13 is a reach for a non generational RB prospect. Not sure why me pointing that out bothers you. :noidea:

If he is a three down back who can catch do you still believe that?

1. That might have been me.

2. While 13 is a slight reach for Guice. as I mentioned it would not be a horrible reach when you look at the other alternatives. Trade up for BArkley, roll with Fat Rob and Perine and draft another developmental back.

Another question is, is this Rb class as deep as last year or like people have been saying?

Fwiw, the scout I heard talking about him on 106.7 a month or so ago said Guice runs with as much power as Perrine and with the kind of quickness that Thompson has. He makes the first guy miss - whether it's with quickness, power or a combination. Once Thompson got injured last season, the Skins RB's almost always did not avoid the first tackler. He had him rated equal to Barkley, but he figured he'd be a 2nd round pick.

Do you even read or do you just get a woody being able to say Shark is crazy??

The first thing is said is QB SHOULD be off the table. But again with Bruce you can NEVER rule out anything as totally out of the question. You and I both know this to be true.

I think theres a decent amount of people Id take over him. Vea, Payne, Fitz, James, Nelson, Ward, Roquan, Landry, Jackson, Wynn, Moore, etc. I think there are plenty of prospects Id still go with over him.
